The financial statements for the year lo 31. May 2024 are as set out on pages 4 to 8. The Ststement of Financial Activities show5 a small decrease in direct gNing to £3.731 (£4,260 in the year lo May 2023). The General Fund Balan of rK)w stsnds at £166.124 at the year end, together with DeSnated Funds of £254,648. We are grateful for those wtho have continued to give financially to the Church. As noted in last years accounts. the Church Manse was sold on 23 September 2022 wth net pro(£eds of £249,140 which has significanty increased Church bank balan. current £320,677. Prayerful consideration is being gFven by the Deacons and the Church as to how this will be used in accordance wtth our charitable purposes in the future. These funds are currenty being held in a designated Special reserve Furnl. Durtng the year, donations have been given to the Baptist Missionary Society (£300) along ryth a donation {of £450) to the Baptst Union of Scotland for the Scoth"sh Baptist Fund. Risk management The Twslees have responsibilty for evaluatiThJ and monitoring the major risks faced by the Church and to take care to ensure that these risks are mitigated. The Trustees are updated on key legislative changes by the Baptist Union of Scotland who also provide guidance in afeas where policies are required e.g.. Pension Fund - Cessation Debt 2024 2023 Net cessation debt settled August 2022 7,413 The church was an ernployer in the Baptist Union of Great Brttain (BUGB} Pension Scherne from August 2007 until the above date The defined benefft scheme was in deficit and was closed on 31 December 2011. The church had been making deficiency contributions to the Pension Scherne since 1 January 2012 as instructed by the Pension Fund Trustees. The church was advised on the 8th October 2014 that the outstanding cessation debt had now b&n quanlified by the BUGB Pension Fund Trustees. As a cessation event had occurred, and the church was not in a 'period of grace,. the church was not allowed to continue making monthly deficiency contributions and the remaining debt became payable immediately. The net debt of £7,413 was settled in full on the 30th August 2022.

As noted in last years accounts. the Church Manse was sold on 23 September 2022 wth net pro(£eds of £249,140 which has significanty increased Church bank balan. current £320,677. Prayerful consideration is being gFven by the Deacons and the Church as to how this will be used in accordance wtth our charitable purposes in the future. These funds are currenty being held in a designated Special reserve Furnl. Durtng the year, donations have been given to the Baptist Missionary Society (£300) along ryth a donation {of £450) to the Baptst Union of Scotland for the Scoth"sh Baptist Fund. Risk management The Twslees have responsibilty for evaluatiThJ and monitoring the major risks faced by the Church and to take care to ensure that these risks are mitigated.
