OTA. There are no restn"ctions on the way in which the Church rnay operate as a
Charity.
Objectres and Leadership
The Aim of the Church, ￿lch is affiliated to the Baptist Union of ScollarKJ. is to worship
together in Spirit and Truth. To build the ￿em￿rS up in the farth and to pr(xlaim the
Gospel of Jesus Christ To work and help where we Ixn with children. young people.
and older people atong with people with dksabilrties or health problems. We make
donations or gifts to other charitsble organisations.
The Church is congregational in policy and its day-to4ay running is undertaken by the
Deacons who are all appointed by the Church. there is no ￿ed temi for Deacons. Prior
to their appointrnent. new Deacons, would have served the church for sorr* time in
various roles and woukj be familiar with the thurch's values. its aims and objectives as
well as its daY-t￿daY operations. All new Deacons are made aware of their

Wrth a membership of 8, ￿ continued without a pastor. Assistan(* of a retired pastor.
e.g. by intrcMJuctKJn to some new preathers for our rota - and regular contact in person
himself- has been invaluable. Regulaf information continued to be received from

Baptist Union of Scolland arKI Scottish Baptst College. whilst a ￿rtain amunt of
general upkeep of the property continued.
Financial Revi•w
The church r￿1VeS its fuTNJing frorn the church members and adherents by weekly
offerings and general donations. The church also has a unrestricted special resep
fund which is used at the discretion of the Deacons for any unexpected l unplanned
expenditure including repairs which are deemed necessary along with any shorffall that
may arise in the General Fund.
The financial statements for the year lo 31. May 2024 are as set out on pages 4 to 8.
The Ststement of Financial Activities show5 a small decrease in direct gNing to £3.731
(£4,260 in the year lo May 2023). The General Fund Balan￿ of rK)w stsnds at
£166.124 at the year end, together with DeS￿nated Funds of £254,648. We are grateful
for those wtho have continued to give financially to the Church. As noted in last years
accounts. the Church Manse was sold on 23￿ September 2022 wth net pro(£eds of
£249,140 which has significanty increased Church bank balan￿. current
£320,677. Prayerful consideration is being gFven by the Deacons and the Church as to
how this will be used in accordance wtth our charitable purposes in the future. These
funds are currenty being held in a designated Special reserve Furnl.
Durtng the year, donations have been given to the Baptist Missionary Society (£300)
along ￿ryth a donation {of £450) to the Baptst Union of Scotland for the Scoth"sh Baptist
Fund.
Risk management
The Twslees have responsibilty for evaluatiThJ and monitoring the major risks faced by
the Church and to take care to ensure that these risks are mitigated. The Trustees are
updated on key legislative changes by the Baptist Union of Scotland who also provide
guidance in afeas where policies are required e.g.. Safeguarding: GDPR: etc. The
various aclivities of the Church are over3een by the Deacons and opportunities for
training is provided where this is available arKI relevanL
Plans for the FU￿rn
Wrth low numbers attending the Church any present discussions are on-going with the
Baptist Union of Scotland who along with the Church are k)okn'ng at the possibilty of
finding someone who can fill the position of Minister.
Trustee Rernun•rntion
As shown in r￿te 3, no remuneration is received by any of the trustees.

ACCOUNTING BASIS AND POLICIES
The financial ststements have been prepared on a full accrued basis. They
have been prepared in accordance with the Charities Statement of
Recommended Practice (SORP 2005), the Charities Accounts (Scotland)
Regulations 2006, and applicable Accounting Stsndards.
a) All voluntary income, (offerings and donations), is accounted ft)r when
the charty has unconditional entitlement to the income.
b) Tax ￿COVered on Gfft Aid Donations and Small Donations is accounted
for al the same time as the gnR to which It relates.
c) Bank Interest is accounted for when re￿1vable or payable.
d) Tangible fixed assets comprise two properties. They are valued at the
lower of cost or valuation at the date of purchase as set out in note 2
below. No depreciation is charged on land or buildings.
e) Liabilities are accounted for when there is a legal or constructive
obligation committing the charity to pay out resources.

The church was an ernployer in the Baptist Union of Great Brttain (BUGB}
Pension Scherne from August 2007 until the above date The defined benefft
scheme was in deficit and was closed on 31 December 2011.
The church had been making deficiency contributions to the Pension Scherne
since 1 January 2012 as instructed by the Pension Fund Trustees. The
church was advised on the 8th October 2014 that the outstanding cessation
debt had now b&n quanlified by the BUGB Pension Fund Trustees. As a
cessation event had occurred, and the church was not in a 'period of grace,.
the church was not allowed to continue making monthly deficiency
contributions and the remaining debt became payable immediately. The net
debt of £7,413 was settled in full on the 30th August 2022.

My examination is carried out in accordan￿ with Regulation 11 of the Charities
Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 20(￿. An examination Includes a revEW of the
accounting records kept by the charty and a companson of the accounts presented with
these records. It also includes wnsideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the
accounts and seeks explanab.on from the trustees conceming any such matter. The
procedures undertaken do not provide all the eVKIen￿ that Y￿uld be required in an
audit, and ,consequenty. I do not express an audit opini¢)n the view given by the
accounts.
Independent Examinor Statement
In the course of my examination, no fflatt￿ has come to my attents'on. which gives me
reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements:
to keep accounting records in accordance with Section 44(1) (a) of the 2005 Act and

The Aim of the Church, ￿lch is affiliated to the Baptist Union of ScollarKJ. is to worship
together in Spirit and Truth. To build the ￿em￿rS up in the farth and to pr(xlaim the
Gospel of Jesus Christ To work and help where we Ixn with children. young people.
and older people atong with people with dksabilrties or health problems. We make
donations or gifts to other charitsble organisations.
The Church is congregational in policy and its day-to4ay running is undertaken by the
Deacons who are all appointed by the Church. there is no ￿ed temi for Deacons. Prior
to their appointrnent. new Deacons, would have served the church for sorr* time in
various roles and woukj be familiar with the thurch's values. its aims and objectives as
well as its daY-t￿daY operations. All new Deacons are made aware of their
responsibilities. The cutTent Deacons are as follows:

Wrth a membership of 8, ￿ continued without a pastor. Assistan(* of a retired pastor.
e.g. by intrcMJuctKJn to some new preathers for our rota - and regular contact in person
himself- has been invaluable. Regulaf information continued to be received from

Baptist Union of Scolland arKI Scottish Baptst College. whilst a ￿rtain amunt of
general upkeep of the property continued.
Financial Revi•w
The church r￿1VeS its fuTNJing frorn the church members and adherents by weekly
offerings and general donations. The church also has a unrestricted special resep
fund which is used at the discretion of the Deacons for any unexpected l unplanned
expenditure including repairs which are deemed necessary along with any shorffall that
may arise in the General Fund.
The financial statements for the year lo 31. May 2024 are as set out on pages 4 to 8.
The Ststement of Financial Activities show5 a small decrease in direct gNing to £3.731
(£4,260 in the year lo May 2023). The General Fund Balan￿ of rK)w stsnds at
£166.124 at the year end, together with DeS￿nated Funds of £254,648. We are grateful
for those wtho have continued to give financially to the Church. As noted in last years
accounts. the Church Manse was sold on 23￿ September 2022 wth net pro(£eds of
£249,140 which has significanty increased Church bank balan￿. current
£320,677. Prayerful consideration is being gFven by the Deacons and the Church as to
how this will be used in accordance wtth our charitable purposes in the future. These
funds are currenty being held in a designated Special reserve Furnl.
Durtng the year, donations have been given to the Baptist Missionary Society (£300)
along ￿ryth a donation {of £450) to the Baptst Union of Scotland for the Scoth"sh Baptist
Fund.
Risk management
The Twslees have responsibilty for evaluatiThJ and monitoring the major risks faced by
the Church and to take care to ensure that these risks are mitigated. The Trustees are
updated on key legislative changes by the Baptist Union of Scotland who also provide
guidance in afeas where policies are required e.g.. Safeguarding: GDPR: etc. The
various aclivities of the Church are over3een by the Deacons and opportunities for
training is provided where this is available arKI relevanL
Plans for the FU￿rn
Wrth low numbers attending the Church any present discussions are on-going with the
Baptist Union of Scotland who along with the Church are k)okn'ng at the possibilty of
finding someone who can fill the position of Minister.

As shown in r￿te 3, no remuneration is received by any of the trustees.

Slatemont of Truslees. Responsibilities
Charity law requires the trustees to prepare financial Statem￿ for each financial year
which show a true ar￿ fair view of the st* of affai[5 of the (*atity and its financial
activibes for that period. In preparirvJ those financial slatemenls. the trustees are
required to:

make judgments and estimates that are rea￿￿able and pnmjent;
sLqte whether applicable accounting standards and staternents of recommended
practice have be￿ followed. subject lo any departures disclosed and explain
in the financial statements; and

them to ensure that the financial statements compty ￿th the Charities Accounts
