Objectives: (i) To provide financial assistance to enable anyone or more individuals preferably, but not necessarily, holding the qualification of Chartered Engineer to enable them to undertake either whole time or part time undergraduate, post graduate or other studies in the United Kingdom or overseas. (ii) The advancement of education in the Engineering field by the provision of finance to assist in the building, establishing, equipping or maintaining of or in recruitment of students or staff for a place or places for the furtherance of the studying of Engineering and involving close collaboration between the engineering department of anyone or more of the universities in Great Britain or other institutions of further education on the one hand and industry on the other hand. (iii) To fund scholarships to facilitate work experience for Engineering students or potential Engineering students. (iv) To support research and development work associated with Engineering in any Institution of Further Education (v) To assist with the promotion of new Engineering business created by Research and Development Centres in Institutions of Further Education, leading to possible commercial exploitation. (vi) In carrying out the foregoing objects, the Trustees shall have an unfettered discretion to commit Trust funds from time to time, whether Capital or Income, to either or the objects specified to the exclusion of the other or partly to one and partly to the other as they may determine and shall not be required to account to any beneficiary or prospective beneficiary or any others for their decision or decisions in selecting any particular object.
