The charity is an independent day school for pupils aged 3 to 18. The principal aims are to provide education to the highest academic standards by providing a relevant curriculum, and to optimise the opportunities of pupils to develop every aspect of their characters and prepare them for the responsibilities, challenges and obligations of citizenship. The charity aims to foster a culture of shared respect and responsibility for all pupils and staff in which they feel supported, valued and empowered to be the best they can be, and to raise the profile of the school through local, national and global visibility. The charity supports wider access to the school via its financial assistance programme and also supports parents who find themselves in difficult financial circumstances.

Objectives: The Company's objects are to advance the formal education of children and young people in the West of Scotland to high academic standards in a manner which optimises the opportunities of individual pupils to develop every aspect of hislher character and prepares pupils for the responsibilities, challenges, obligations of citizenship and (without compromising the Company's commitment to high academic standards or the Company's financial wellbeing) to adopt admission policies and promote bursary schemes designed to make places at the Company's school available to the widest practicable cross section of children and young people and pursuant to the foregoing to carry on for the benefit of the public the following activities:-
