It will be my pleasure, as current President. to ensure his contribution and ochievemenls within GAS are remembered. l am delighted to see Ihal membership has grown this ye8r. He offered a lascinating presentation into his master'5 research and we are very happy to be sUPPOrting newtaleni within the University ol Glasgow's archLicoIok>' department. Our co8ch excuision was to the newly refuTbished Perth Museurn, where omongst other exhibits, W8 viewed the Stone of Destiny in its new and permanent home. NOTES to Treasurers Report 2024 In the RECEIPTS section the DONATIONS total is considerably greater than the previous years. This is dup to the very generous Bequest left to the S(Kiety by the late. long served GAS Member. As to this sections Item titled, GIFT AID. There was again no submi$5ion this year to HMRC re donation5 by Gift Aid. Thi5 was due to difficulties with the closure of the Societie5 Deposit Aco)unt. which made It difficult to identify those who continued to support the Gift Aid scheme. In the PUBLICATIONS section of the PAYMENTS colurnn, the Society rnaintains a quanlity of Publications and there was no demand for lurther purchases this yeaf, Also in PAYMENTS. the DONATION of E38158 95 was transferred to the Societies Skipton account. In MISCELLANEOUS, the sum of f 19829.95 reflect5 the final c105ure of the Deposit account by the Virgin Bank and the funds transfer to the Societies Current account. Finally. In the STATEMENT OF BALANCES, the DEPOSIT account Is shown to be closed. There $ no rea50n given by the bank for th15 closure. other than this type of account was considered to be obsolete .
