The Whithorn Trust is the custodian of the archaeological site at Whithorn, where the earliest evidence of Christian practice is found anywhere in Scotland. The Trust exists to inspire the public with the story of Whithorn, its collection, and to create educational and economic opportunities for young people and the community.

Objectives: 4 The company’s objects are: 4.1 to advance education. 4.2 to advance the arts, heritage, culture and science. and 4.3 to advance community development, primarily through the provision of a high quality visitor experience and museum which inspires current and future generations with an appreciation of Whithorn’s story and archaeology, as one of the earliest known Christian settlements in the UK. helps to stimulate further archaeological investigations and other scientific research relating to the sites in and around Whithorn and the historical significance of such sites. and contributes to the regeneration of local communities in and around Whithorn.
