CHLIRCH OF THE GOOD SHEPHF.RD ACCOUNTS FOR THE YEAR TO 30 SEPTEMBER 2024 Report of the Vestry (CODtillued) Achievements and PerformaDce We have increased our nUmI￿rS with new mem1￿S joining us and it was a great pleasure to bapti triplets from one family. We have started work in renewing a disused part of our garden into what we hope will be a peace and welcoming area used by church members and the wider community. Our church has joined the Renfrew Regional Council ate& of Episcopal churches which consists o eight churches, so we are forging new links with them and we have already had volunteers to help with our garden project. We continue to have links with our friends in the G52 group and we will host our Carols by Candlelight Service as usual. Next year our work will involve completing church improvements to the building. &s r¢quir¢d by quinquennial re￿rt. Future plans Fulure plans include continuing to find best ways to nurture. and encourage the young people and chAldr¢n and their families who have joined us this year. It is vita] to respond to their needs and, &s a church community, support and help them develop their own gifts and callin and questions. 'Discipling' of all members and those 'seeking' is really important to all of at Good Shepherd. Reswnding to people including requests for Baptism (from Nurs¢ry parent this year. f instance). needs time and Ca￿ and sensitivity. Relations and links with the Nursery. and the Community Choir are very imtx)rlant to continue and build on. PROPERTY TRUSTEE REPORT 2024. This year has been relatively quiet. The year began with repairs to the church roof due to storm damage, the cost being met by our insurance company. Work on the garden has commenced, with a new 8 foot fence encirclingthe rear of the ctturch grounds. Landscaping work will begin in spring 2025. Nextyear as part of our last Quinquennial inspection we will begin with repairs to the church windows the cost is estimated at approximately £1000. We will also have rendering work done to the outside walls of the church and halls, this is a major requirement from the report. The vestry have agreed to an enhanced fire alarm system forthe church and halls, and this will be done in January 2025. We had a major dispute with our energy supplier (SSEI, and we thank Kim Schmulian the Diocesan Administrator, for her assistance in helping us to resolve the dispute. We are to receive £120 compensation off our next invoice for the incompetence of the situation. In March we will be seeking a new and more efficient energy supplier when our contract runs out. I would like to thank everyone for their eff orts this year. We did not get a lot done in the garden due to the poor summer, hopefullythe weatherwill be kinderto us nextyear.
