The principal objective of the services is to support children and their families who are experiencing separation and divorce in a manner which serves the best interest of the children enabling them to have a continuing relationship with both parents maintaining and / or improving their quality of life.

Objectives: The Charitable Purposes of the SCIO ('the Charitable Purposes') are the advancement of human rights, conflict resolution and reconciliation to improve the wellbeing and quality of life of children, parents and family members affected by family disputes and separation, through: 3.1.1 promoting and undertaking counselling, conciliation, and mediation with parents and children involved in family disputes. 3.1.2 enabling children affected by family separation to maintain and develop positive relationships with parents and family members. 3.1.3 enabling parents affected by family separation to prioritise the welfare of the child and to develop skills and behaviours supportive of co-parenting. and 3.1.4 researching and developing new services to support persons affected by family separation and advocating for effective service provision.
