Edinburgh Hindu Mandir and Cultural Centre is established to promote the practice, understanding, and appreciation of Hindu religion, culture, and values within Scotland and beyond. Our mission is to provide a welcoming spiritual home for devotees, while fostering inter-faith harmony, cultural education, and community wellbeing. We achieve this by: Providing a place of worship for daily prayers, festivals, and religious ceremonies conducted according to Hindu traditions. Organising cultural and educational programmes that teach Hindu philosophy, language, music, dance, and moral values—particularly for younger generations. Supporting social and charitable initiatives, including food distribution, community outreach, and partnerships with local organisations to promote mutual respect and social cohesion. Celebrating major Hindu festivals such as Diwali, Navratri, Holi, and Janmashtami—bringing together people from diverse backgrounds to share joy and learning.

Objectives: The EHMCC is established for the advancement of religion, culture and arts and specifically: a) To promote Hinduism through regular meetings at The Mandir b) To promote a better understanding of the Hindu culture by celebrating popular festivals and by inviting all other communities to participate in all such festivals. c) To provide facilities for cultural and recreational activities for the Hindu community and to encourage members of all other communities to participate in such activities. d) To provide and maintain a library on Hindu religion, culture and arts.
