Our conductor f this ccncarl was performing with us for the firsl tim8. In December we performed a concert foaturing Music from th8 Movies. This was an inlgraclive concert to engage 8 wider audience. The conductor spoke lo the audience between pieces and one piece encouraged thè audiern￿ lo turn in lo performers by singing along. This was a sell out concert which is good for m8mbers and the Glasgow public. Our March concert fealured a young piano soloist from the Royal Conservalo¢re of Scotland, performing a popular concorto which was very popular wilh our audience and rnèmbèrs. Our summer term saw arK)Iher new conductorjoin us and w8 performgd a concert with a mix of unusual pioces by Brits'sh composers alongsid9 symphony by a popular composer, Borodin. Gift Aid of approximately £2,600 and oulslanding lickel income of approximately £1400 are expected. This would have led lo a profit this year with concert 4 br6aking even. The figures in the concert income are totals, the breakdowns are shown on the Income & Expenditure page. 6. In comparison to the previous year the concert venue costs are lower. This is because one concert venue last year was more expensive than our usual venues. The costs this year are more indicative of a normal year.
