AB2? 8WF REPORT OF THE COMMrrrEE FOR THE 13 MONTHS TO 30 APRIL 2026 The object of ACMC. &s stated in the constitutio is to foster the thdy and appreciation of Chamber Music. Our ?025-?6 season our 91 se&son of doing this. Over the )'ears, many farnous rnusicians have given us concerts. and we haTre promoted perfornlances by promising young musicians. We welcome both the return of perf0rnie who have enjoyed success with our audiences and appeardnces bv neivcomers to ACMC. Our ?025-?6 season CODSiSted of seven concerts scheduled from September ?0?5 to April ?026. Our perforniers were Scott MansorL piano: Mathilde Milwidsky. violio with Richard uttley, piano: Carnenco (Emily AndTeTh& flute and sopr2no. DaTrid Massey and Francisco Corre& guit2rs); the Chloe Ptano Trio: Dudok Quartet Amstsrdam: Robin Michael, cello, w'ith Huw Watkin& piano: and Ensemble Jackalope. Scott Manson is an accoEnplished Tr'oung music sthdent from Aberdeen: stepped in at short notkce to cover a cBncellatton by the Near)'_Adarns String Trio due to il]ness. Scott gave a brilliant perfornlance of a well-chosen progrdmme to an appCiatiVe audience. In a second change to our scheduled perfomers. Huw. Watkins was fortunately available to accompany Robin Michael after Daniel Tong lias obliged to cancel due to family illness. Carnienco perfornied an unusual sty'le of conceTL inNolving a storyline based on the operd Carnien and including actins humour, and audience internction. Carmenco drew our biggest audience of the seasmL evidentlj enjoyed the evening. We look fonfyard to booking the neiv show being developed by these innovative musicians. The Chloe Piano Trio's concert was supported by the Tumiell TrusL which paid their perforniance fees. ACMC was keen to platforni these highly talented young musicians and grateful to benefit from the TrusL We continued to offeT interval freshments to our audiences for a second year after havtng suspended this provision at the time of Covid. The refreshments added to the atmosphere and sense of occasion and made concerts more sociable. ACMC is fortunate to receive donatÈons from many members they take out their sea8on subscriptions. Many audience members donats when purch&sing theirtickets on the door or during the concert interval as people mingle 2nd chaL ACMC'S activities were sllprted financially by a grant of L?,000 from Chamber Music Scotland's Concert Series Fund. We are grateful to CMS for this grant fundin& M,hich enables us to bring high-quality. live chambermusic to audiences inAbenleen ,hile keeping subscription rdtes and ticket prices at affordable levels.
We set our subscription rates at £88 for a single, £85 per person for a double. and £44 for a concession. This attracted 83 people to become members for the 1] season, and a further 3 people for the second half of the season. We also have an honorary member: our former Treasurer Lydia Thomson. We gave a complimenlary subscription to our Independent Examiner. Under the ternis of the Constitution, those tsking out subscription tickels to the concert series become members of ACMC and are entitled to attend the Annual General Meeting. ACMC 15 adsnini5tered by a commtttee elected at the AGM. Therefore. the accounts for 20?5-?6 cover a l)-month period rather than a j'ear. The accounts for the 13 months 10 30 April ?0?6 shoii, a Ioss in the Revenue Funl which funds concerts, of £3,081.05. The General Fun¢ which is the niain se,¢. has increa largel). through donation& by £2.?90.85. Following the ACMC Reserves Polic},, a larger than usual transfer of £? ?50.00 was made from the Genernl Fund to the Revenue Fund. Therefore. the Revenue Fund ended the year with a debit balance of £811.5? and the General Fund with £l?,54? 17. On 30 April ?026. ACMC'S total reseryes Stood at £11,730.65. There was a decrease of approximately £790 during the course of the financial )'ear. There were two components of this. The rSt was a loss for the final concert of the ?0?4-?.fj season in April ?0?5. The second w'as a sUlUS for the ?095-?6 sea50n. The latter ivas the outcome of subscription levels holding constanL ticket sales Ing buo&anL and perfonners. fees being lower than planned because of the unexpected &cellatiOnS and replacements.
