The Society provides information on local history, genealogy and natural history to the population both locally and globally., via the Society website, e-mails, a winter programme of talks from members and guest speakers, guided walks and a biannual published magazine. The Society also gives donations to local groups undertaking projects of local interest.

Objectives: The object of the Society shall be to promote the study of the Archaeology, History and Natural History of Kintyre, including Gigha. to investigate the History and Antiquities and Natural History of Kintyre and to preserve, and from time to time publish, any Records or Documents relevant to the objects of the Society, and to record findings in The Kintyre Magazine, the biannual journal of the Society.
