A programme of Scottish, UK and international artists was pres¢iited in venues across the cily. We also worked witli several local promoters & organisations to add to our programme with a series of co-promolions which helped boost the overall event. ond Borders We worked with Serious Produclions in London io bring the premiere of ihe British Council suptX)rted "Beyond Borders" event to the Green Room in Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. This cvetkt celebrated the 20th anniversary of their Take Fiv¢ mentoring Programme. Poesis- a newly commissioned work and collaboration exploring intercontkeetion, borders and language as thresholds featured live soundscapes, reimagining of traditional folk songs, improvised m¢lodi¢s, and manipulated voices featured musicians from recenl cohorts of Take Five including Lulu Manning, Xhos& Cole, Claire Victoria Roberts and Conor McAul¢y. Glasgow 850 We were suc¢¢ssful with the reopened Glasgow City Council Glasgow 850 Festival Fund (which we weren't eligible to apply for at the first round (up to £IOk). We have been granted £5,000 towards afternoon events during the Festival dates iiicluding.. Sue McKenzie's Sound Explorers - workshop for kids aged 5-9 (Free entry) Byres Road Big Band at the Pearce Institut¢ in Govan (Free erktry) We presented a project entitled "The New Jazzwegians" featuring Glasgow-based jazz musicians who weren't born in the city but had chosen to make their home and ja7z career here - co-curaled by Fergus Mccreadie. The programm¢ look pla¢¢ al Si Luke's on the afternoon of Sunday 22 June and was liosted and introduced by 2nd f¢aluT¢d musicians born in Ghana. From Wednesday 19 - Sunday 22 June, Glasgow's longest running festival brought a dynamic line-up of iconic performers, rising stars, albutn launches, and community events lo venues across Glasgow, delighting audiences with jau sounds of every genre, from big band and swing, to experimental and blues. More than 200 musicians took part in over 35 performances. A swathe of shows reached a sell out including acclaimed New Orleans musician Jon Cl¢ary. jazz fusion outfit Mammal Hands. The company has been able lo continue ils activities due to support from Creative Scotland its bankers, the Virgin Money Bank, and other creditors.
