Objectives & Actlvities The DSocese1s one of seven Dlocese5 of the Scottlsh Eplscopal Church and Is 8overned by Canon Law. The objectives and main actNities of the Dloce5e throughout the year have continued to be the provision of sp1rltual, clerical and financial support to the Charges throughout the Diocese, the administerirvd of Provincial gtants, mlssion work and thè development of training. In terms of Its Constitution, as presented to and agreed by Diocesan Synod In Mard) 2012, the DI0￿$e ha5 four Trustees, for thè purpose of taking titles to properties within the Diocese, namely the B15hop, the Dean, the Chancellor and the Registrar. The ofFice of Chancdlor is currently vacant. The Standln8 Committee acts a5 the Executive Committee of the Dlocese between meetings of the Synod. It implements Synod decisions, supervises and re￿iVeS reports from various Boards and prepares for Synod meetinES. It has delegated the day-to4ay administration to the Admlnistration Board who prepare reports, ¢ash flows, budgets and accounts for the Standing Committee's review and approval. Employment matters have also been delegated to the Adminlstratlon Board. There 15 3150 a Board for Mission and Ministrythat oversees misslon and mlnistry work acr05S the Dlocese. The Diocese contSnued to work to meet its objective5 Wlth regard to the runnin8 of Dlocese. The day to day management of thè Diottse ha5 been delegated to the Bishop. The day to day flnancial Manag￿nent ha5 been delegated to the Dlocesan Treasurer. Athlevements and Perforrnance The Diocese of Moray Ross and Caithness, operats'ng throu8h its offKèrs. both lay and clerlcal, exlsts to support Its clergy and charges in furthering the mission of God's church to the communities of the DI0￿$e. Thls Is achleved by the visiting of all areas by the Bishop and by the work of the Mission and Ministry Board and Mlsslon P￿&St5 and by the presence In local communities of members. young and okl. in many spheres of artivity. Finandal Review Overvlew The accounts show that there wa5 8 deficit of £6,071. The dèficlt before the gain on the investment would be £66,779. The defi¢it was budgeted for and wlll be met from Diocesan reserves. There are a number of designated funds Inote 141 and these operate as indlvidual reeelpts ar￿ payments ac¢¢unts for the funds set 85ide for particular purposès. The fvnds held in thè Mlssion ProwsKsn account has decTea5ed in value by £41,329. It is thls fund, along wtth the Dunderdale Fund, that provides Charges with help with their stlpendiary costs and supports Mission in the Di0￿$e. It Is projected that there are sufficlent funds to continue at the ¢urrent rate of assistan￿ for years after whl¢h the reserve will be depleted. An application is currently being made to Provence for additional funds to augment these funds. Prlnclpal Fundln8 Sources The Diocese is deperldent formost of its income on quota contributions from charBe5 and block 8rants received from the Pfovince of the Scottish Eprseopal Church. The Provincial Block 8T8nt has allowed for greater flexibility In how the Provlncial funds are distributed with due regard of course for the spirit in whith thlsgrant is awarded. The quota contributions from charges are based on budgeted expendlture for the Diocese whi¢h Is allocated arnong charge5 in proportlon to thÈir assessed income and thelr investments.

A Diocesan Officer for the Protettion of Children and Vulnerable Adults is appolnted by the Bishop and Is a member of the Standlng Committee. The existing Trustees are famlllar wlth the woik of the DI￿Se and the re8ulaiory framework of the Standin8 Committee having met to dlscuss Ihe requirements and to ensure that trainin8 and advice b In place for new member5. New members of the sian(Ilng Committee are given an Induction and receive relevant support lor their role on appointment. The remuneration of key personnel is determined on the basls of scale5 complled by General Synod of the Scottish Eplscopal Church. The Stinding Committee has two pendant committees. The Mission ar￿ Ministry Committee's remit is to encourage. accompany and resource local congregatlons and individuals on theirjourney of faith. Its remit also includes tralnlng for ministry and minlsterlal developmerit. The Adminlstration Board is concerned with the administratlon and day-to.day flnances of the Dlocese. It is re5POf15ible for the preparation of budget5 and cash flows, the seitlng of Quota contrlbutions from char8es. and the preparation of the annual accounts.
