'the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage'
PLUS Forth Valley supports children, young people, adults and families living with disabilities and additional support needs across the Forth Valley area to improve wellbeing, inclusion and life opportunities. We provide practical and emotional family support, short breaks and activities, and individual and group support for children, young people and adults. Our work reduces isolation, builds confidence and helps families cope with the challenges they face. We take a person-centred approach, working with families to understand their needs and deliver flexible, responsive support. We work in partnership with local authorities, health services, schools and community organisations to improve access to services and ensure families receive support at the right time. By listening to families and amplifying their voices, we promote equality, inclusion and positive outcomes.
Objectives: 1) Without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, race, political, religious or other opinions, to advance education and personal and social development through the promotion of local play, recreational, leisure and social activities for children and adults with disabilities thus providing them with appropriate social opportunities essential for their personal development and improvement of the quality of life of the children and adults and their families. (2) The advancement of education, expertise and best practice in the personal and social development of children and adults with disabilities through the delivery of training courses, seminars and conferences.
