Hansel provides care and support services for people with additional needs, within registered residential care settings or within their own homes. Accommodation-based respite services also offer short-breaks for visitors throughout the year. Through Hansel’s 3e team employment opportunities are available for people with additional support needs, and employability programmes are delivered alongside a number of social enterprise activities. Care and support services are funded through local contracts with health and social care partnerships, though some individuals’ support will be funded privately. External revenues are also generated through operation of social enterprise activities, including a commercial laundry and tearoom, and the organisation also undertakes fundraising initiatives to raise funds to develop or enhance services provided.

Objectives: 4.1 the advancement of health, social care and integration for children, young people and adults who are in need by reason of any disability or disadvantage arising from any physical or mental state, age, accident or as a result of any disease or infection or with learning disabilities, mental health or any other special needs or circumstances. This will include the support and undertaking of research into the causes, implications and treatment of factors affecting this group of individuals 4.2 the advancement of education and equality for children, young people and adults who are in need by reason of any disability or disadvantage arising from any physical or mental state, age, accident or as a result of any disease or infection or with learning disabilities, mental health or any other special needs or circumstances, 4.3 the relief of stress and financial needs experienced by their families and carers through, but not limited to, the provision of accommodation, support, education and training, and 4.4 the advancement of citizenship, enabling people who are in need to be active citizens individually and through employment or community organisations and networks.
