Objectives: The objects (and charitable purpose) of ESU Scotland shall be the furtherance, encouragement or improvement of relations and friendship and mutual knowledge and understanding in the English-speaking world by all or any of the following means: · by the provision of lectures · by the exchange of lecturers, teachers, students or scholars for educational purposes · by offering scholarships (travelling or otherwise) or prizes · by the publication, distribution or circulation of books, articles and pamphlets · by organising discussion or debates of any educational character · by the production, distribution or circulation of educational films, or gramophone records · by any other educational means · by the support, including financial, operational, or other means, of any charitable organisation having similar objects and charitable purposes to those of ESU Scotland including, but not limited to, Young Speakers Scotland, established as a SCIO (Scottish charity number SC050590) and having its principal office at Norton Park, 57 Albion Road, Edinburgh EH7 5QY (“YSS”).
