THE PURPOSES OF THE CHARITY ARE: – to organise a signature citywide annual Music, Arts festival for the benefit of Newry residents and visitors. Between the annual festivals to organise Music, Arts events, in regards to inclusion and better community relations – to promote the wellbeing and mental health of residents of Newry city. – The festival and other events to be open for all, regardless of age, religion, sexuality, culture or ethnic background. – To create opportunities for better community relationships between the residents of Newry and visitors to the festival Iúr Cinn Fleadh is about promoting: – A range of varied Arts, music events for of all ages and cultures – The hertitage and natural environment of Newry ship Canal and the adjacent greenway. – the benefits that Newry city offers to its residents and visitors in terms of hospitality, accommodation and performance venues, the existence of Arts, Sports, Health, Community Associations and their activities in regards to inclusion – The use of varied venues including local churches is about inclusion and breaking down barriers that cause isolation and exclusion - the Irish language and other multi-cultural events where languages are shared and learned, creating better community relationships Iúr Cinn Fleadh is about encouraging: – volunteers to help out during the five-day annual festival duration in any capacity, this is about inclusion, mental health, breaking down barriers that cause exclusion or isolation especially for new residents; – cross-community events during and between annual festivals.
