Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document
The Friends of St Bernard’s Parent Support Group’s sole purpose is to support the Advancement of Education within St Bernards Primary School and Nursery Unit, through provision of support for activities within the school which promote health and well being of both children and the school community. Support is also provided through raising funds to provide essential resources to support the continued educational needs of children within the school.

Members of the Group also support the school by attending events that promote and celebrate the wider school community.

Section D Achievements and performance
Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
The main activities undertaken were for the public benefit of the pupils and community of St Bernard’s Primary School and Nursery Unit. The Group held 7 funding raising activities during the 3 school terms. These activities ranged from sponsorships, parent and business donations, raffles for prizes and holding school events which generated income.
Funds raised were used to pay for fund raising activities, rewards to celebrate the achievements of the pupils during the academic year and in particular to pay for Accelerated Reading and Freckle Mathematics resources for pupils, to enhance the reading and mathematical educational needs of over 400 pupils and garden shed for the outdoor learning facilities.
