Mlsslon, Objectives and Strategy Objectives Compliance with Public B8nefit The Charity Trustees have had regard to the Charity Commission for Northem Ireland's statutory public benefit guidan￿ to ensure that activities entered into during the year have helped to achieve the charity aims and objeclives as well as providing public benefft. The charitable trust was set up on 25 May 1789 following the death of Richard Jackson Esq. by an Act of Parfiament for the clothing and educating of children of the Church of Ireland, making a decent provision for old tradesmen or faMie￿ and to propagating the Christian Religion in the East. With thé passing of time changes have been made to the categories by resolution passed by the board. The charity makes contributions to schools, donations to Southern Area Hospice Services, Help the Homeless (food bank) and CMSI. Structure, Govemance and Management Structure Goveming Document The principal document regarding govemancg of the charity is the will of Richard Jackson agreed under an Act of Parliament in May 1789. The charity is an unincorporated organisation. Organisational structure The trustees are responsible for the day to day running of the charity. The board of trustees hold meetings quart8rly throughout the ye8r. The board of trustees should consist of tsvelve volunteers elected each year at an Annual Gèneral Meeting. New trustee appointments are either from the younger generation of previous truste85 or are recommended to the board of Iruste8s based on association with Ihg charity and its aims. REPORT for the financial year ended 31 December 2023 Results At the end of the financial year the charity has assets of £596,925 (2022 - £597,039) and liabilities of £3,081 (2022 £3,486). The net assets of the charity have increased by £291. Reserves Posltlon and Pollcy The charity had restricted reserves of £593,844 at 31 December 2023 (2022: £593,553).
