Due to the Increased need and gro¥vth of the charlty It was a8feed as part of the on8oln8 Strategy, that the legal format would change to a company Limlted by Guarantee. The decision taken to e5tab115h a charltable company would enable the Newco to take fofward the charlvs work. Niamh Loulse Foundatl¢n a company limlted by guarantee was Incorporated on 17 September 2020. On l Apfll 2022 the assets and Ilabllltles of the Nlamh Loulse Foundatlon unlncorporated or8anlsation were transferred to the Niamh Loulse Foundatlon operatlng as a company Ilmlted by guarantee. The unlncorporated organisatlon ceased to operate from thls date. The delay In transfer wa5 due to challenges presented by the Covld 19 pandernic. Over the last 12 months there has been a number af $18nlflcant occurrences Includln8: Completlon of the Natlonal Lottery Communlty pro8ramme, "Empowerln8 Young Mlnds". Thls had a successful external evaluatSon completed on the 5.years cf the programme, outlinln8 successes and ideas and artlons for Eolng for¥vard. Over the 5 years of the programme, 17 8roup sesslons were dellvered to 197 partlclpants, S47 Individual youn8 people were supported through one.tO•one sesslons and 744 Indlvidual sèlf-care plans were created. Wlth the end of the EmpowerSn8 Young Minds programme, the Department of Health grant has been vital In sustalnlng the Foundatlon. The 8rant also 8ave the opportunlty for external facllitators to come In and deliver varlous programmes to our coffee mornln8 group, and our young people's group, such a5 art, drama, and dance. Mental Health Champlon for Northern Ireland, Professor Siobhan O'Neill, offlclally launched a set of 6 chlldren's emotlonal story-books which were created by Catherlne Mc8ennett, Operational Director & Co-Founder, as part of the Empowering Youn8 Minds programme. The storybooks are a great asset in helping chlldren and young people understand their emotlons and various Ilfe Issues such as grief, bullyin& ni8htmares etc. The stories are based on lived experiences from young people who have come to the Foundation for 5UPPQrt. Catherine Mc Bennett has continued to work tirele551y on the Implementatlon of the Psychological Autopsy in Northern Ireland and contlnues to Ilalse wlth relevant government bodies on the issue in an effort to have this available for all farnllles bereaved by sulcide In N. Ireland.
NIAMH LOUISE FOUNDATION Catherine has continued to grow links wlth the American Assoclation of Sulcldology, ar in April 2022, was invited to speak at the 55 Annual AAS Conference in Chicago, USA on the Psycholo8lcal Autopsy. Catherine and Gralnne Hackett attended the conference which was a great opportunity for buildin8 new relattonshlps and spreadin8 awareness of the Foundation on an international platform. Our one-tOne intervention services for individuals of all ages struggling with thoughts of suiclde/self-harm, or bereaved by sutclde continue on a daily bases, alongside the Wednesday coffee morning 'Welk8elnE & Recovery Group,. The Chrlstmas Evenln8 of Remembrance event contlnues to be a 8reat support for lamllles and friends bereaved by sulcSde. A number of successful awareness sesslons have taken place In the community. educatln8 on mental health, self.harm, and sulclde prevention. Groups have Included, Clogher Eire Og GFC, Portadown Retired Civil Service Fellowship Group, Kiverco Rerycling Plant. Mallaghan En8ineerin8, and Sainsbury5 Dun8annon. The Foundatlon has contlnued to develop and Smprove Ilnks wlth a number of indlvlduals and Broups thls year. On8oin8 links have contlnued wlth the Chlld and Adolescent Mental Health Team, GPS. local schools. community & voluntary groups, the PSNI, Families Voices Forum, and the Southern Health and Social Care Trust including the Protect Life Co-OrdinatOT and Social Work teams. 10. The Foundation hosted a hl8hly successful Gala 8all in October 2022. The event was attended by local community, businesses, and famllles and Individuals who have sou8ht support from the Foundation, and was a 8reat way to raise awareness In a posltlve fashion, as well as ralsln8 funds for the Foundatlon. .11. The Foundat¢on has continued to deliver Mental Health First Aid Training into the communlty and are delighted to now have Jenny Orton tralned and certlfied as a facilitator by the PHA. In thls period, 3 Mental Health F5rst Ald courses were dellvered to the communlty, in¢ludln8 ofte in the Cushendall area, whlch was supported by the Llsa McAlllster Foundatlon. 12. The comrnunlty have continued to be a great support to the Foundation and have organised a number ol successful fundralsin8 events over the last year. These events are vital for sustaining the work of the Foundatlon and we would Ilke to thank all Involved In donatln8 to the Foundatlon and SUPPOrting us In any way.

Free reserves are defined by the Trustees as unrestrlcted Income funds freely available for use as the charity so determines and thereby excludes any funds committed, invested in tangible flxed assets held by the charlty and restrlcted or deslgnated funds. Reserves are needed to bridge the @ap between the spendln8 and recelvlTh8 of Incorhe and to cover unplanned emei8ency repairs and other expenditure.
