DULYCANNON SILVER BAND TRUSTEES REPORT YEAR ENDING 31103123 Structure, Governance and Management The baThd is governed by its constitution which is reviewed annually and this is managed by the conin)itlee who arc appoinicd at our annual general mceting. Objectives The band exists lo bring together members of the community from all ages and backgrounds to leam and play brass instrumcnts to give enjoymcnt to all members and thc gcneral public through thc playing of brass band music. Attivitfie5 This was a very busy ycar for the band with a wide variey of engagements. Contesls; We had a very success1 return to IivL' conlesting with a 2nd at C)magh in May, I 51 at Antrim in Noiicmbcr and 2, at Fivcmilctown in March. Parades; Alon&y with our usual annual parades for the Royal British Legion and Loyal Orders, we also had thc privilege of leading Tyrone District at the Nl Centenary paradL ai Belfast in May. In July we wcic in Colcrainc to Icad th¢ opcning paradc and ¢crcmoncy for thc Supcrcup Nl junior football tournamLnt. Both vcry memorablL cvcnts and d grLat honour for the band to participate in. Christmas. During thc run up to Christma% wc cnicrtained ihc public at carol servicc8 and on the sLreeis of Dungannon. Armagh and Beifasl wherc wc played carols lo raisc funds for the Ch¢st Hcart and Stroke charity. Wc playcd two conccrts at Scarva bandstand amongsl many othcr cngagcmcnts. We also found time for a grcat nights non-playing fun al Prison Island Bclfast, and had an cvcning to ¢el¢brale 60 years of service to the band from Henry and Gcorge Courtenay. i inancial Review The band apprccialcs thc support il rcccivcs for attcnding ihcsc cvcnls ihroughout thc ycar. as the dondllons rcceived froin such cngagemenls are volunlary.we were also gyrateful to receive grant funding Irom a numbcr ol'sources, and thanks must go to thosc band members who put so much work into thesc applications. The largcst of thcsc was rcccivcd from DAERA which allowcd usc to replacLI the roof, flooring and kitchcn in our practlLC hall. Thc dccision was madc to purchasc a ncw marching uniform so fund raising has bcgun lo prcparc ror this largyc expense. Evcnts hcld include a rafflc, cash for clobber. and quiz nighi along with our usual Last Saturday catcring stalls. The mcmbcrs have rose to this challenge and the band remains in a sccurc financial position with rcscrvcs in placc. Financidl acLounts have been prLpared in accordance with the band conslitution and audited by a qualificd accountant as rcquircd by the Charitics Commitlee Northcrn Ircland.
