Seagoe Youth Group Truste8s' report For The Year Ended 31 March 2024 The trustees present their annual report and the unaudited financial statements for the year ended 31 March 2024 The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the accounting policies set out in note 1 to the financial statements and comply with the charity's Constitution, the Charities Act 2008 and "Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicabl8 in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 102) (effective 1 January 2019}. Objectlv88 and actlvitles The objects of Seagoè Youth Group is to promote citizenshlp and the all-round education of Its members through the spiritual, social, moral and physical development of young people from the greater Portadown area and any other area speclfied by the Education Authority. The purpose is to equip young people up to age of 26 with a set of core values, skills and dlspositlons that will enable them to.. feel valued as individuals and as contributing members of social groups in respectful, safe and purposeful environments; have an understanding and respect for difference in terms of gender, sexuality, ethnlcity and religion, and be advocates of tolerance, respect and mutual understanding,, see their place as valued members cf the greater Portadown community, and be responsive to societal issues such as conservation, safe environments, abuse and addiction,. and enhance their personal leadership qualities to take up roles of re8ponsibility within the charity or in any other setting, To the abova ends, the charity was establlshed to dlsseminate, through a team of paid and voluntary youth workers, good practice and positive role modelling appropriate to the needs and interests of young people, and to engage with them in a range of specific programmes and indlvidual and group interactions within the settlng of Sea9oe Youth Group and beyond, including residential experiences. Activities are delivered through open access youth clubs six nights a week. Drop-in sesslons are targeted at three different age groups 8-11, 12-14 and 14+ years. Targeted programmes have been designed and delivered by the youth work team in the THINK model aimed at delivering on six youth work outcomes: improved relationships with others,, enhanced personal capabilities., development of thinking, life and work skill8,' improved health and well being. active citizenship,. and increased participation. After school homework support is avallable each Monday for primary school age children. The trustees have paid due regard to guidance issued by the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland in deciding what activities the charity should undertake. Page 2

Seagoe Youth Group Trustees, report For Thè Year Endfrd 31 March 2024 Achlevements and performance During the year 2023 to 31 March 2024 the charity received funding from the Education Authorlty (EA), Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council and other donations. Membership for the 2023124 year was 436 young people, 8-13 118, 14+ 318, Durlng thls fundlng year the organisation ran alongside drop in provision a total of 18 targeted programmes under the following themes Learning and achieving Living in safety and stability (CSE educatlon Invlslble traffic) Participation (ambassadors leadership programme) Environment and climate change Health and wellbeing Participative structure Incluslon diversity equality of opportunity and good relations These targeted pieces were delivered to a total of 294 partlclpants over the fundlng year. As an approved Duke of Edinburgh's Award Centra, those aged 14-25 years, can improve skills and increase life chances and employability through the biggest youth award scheme in the UK. In 2023124 34 active participants aiming for accreditation at Bronze, Silver and Gold, The Education Authority Local Area Based Funding Specification for April 2021 March 2023 outlines programme of targeted youth work to be delivered at Seagoe Youth Group. We have taken the six areas of action and designed our own youth work delivery model to unify the themes of targeted work set out in the EA Local Area-Based Funding Specification. Seagoe Youth Group has developed the 'THINK' Programme to unify the variety of youth work delivery outlined in the EA Spacification. Members in each age range gained the 'THINK' Programme certification for participation in group work. Quarterly moderation reports by the EA have recognized our work as outstandlng and Good in many areas including outcomes for learners, quality of provision and leadership and management. "The organisation has designed a model of delivery well matched to the needs of the young people, whlch they assess regularly and comprehensively Their 'THINK' programme also correlates closely to the entire Funding Opportunity for the area and is reflective of the moderation theme and focus. THINK- Is it true? Helpful? Inspiring? Necessary? Kind? encourages critical thinking and independence in the young people and the model themes eg. Think Inclusion, Think Nl etc are reflected in the programmes delivered and in the ethos of the provision. Young people are heavily involved in co-design with the ambassador's programme and regular contributions via surveys and focus groups. Programmes are differentiated to meet the broad needs of the young people. Different methods of outreach and detached are utilised throughout the year and 'new' young people are qulck to participate in provision. The scope of the curriculum is broad and varied and CRED is evident at many levels-new posters, designed internally, link the young people to CRED and inclusion themes, diverslty of membership is celebrated and encouraged-LGBTQ young people, BME young people and those from a range of religious backgrounds and with a range of abilities all participating on the night of the moderation." Accounting policies Charlty Informatlon Seagoe Youth Group is a charity, reglstered with the Charity Commission in Northern Ireland. Its principal address is 145 Princess Way, Portadown, Craigavon, Co Armagh, BT63 SEL. 1,1 Accountlng conventlon The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the charity's constitution, the Charities Act 2008, FRS 102 The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Sreland. {"FRS 102") and the Charities SORP Accounting and Reporting by Charities. Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparlng their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard 8pplicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102)" (effective 1 January 20191. The charity is a Public Benefit Entity as defined by FRS 102, The charity has taken advantage of the provisions in the SQRP for charities not to prepare a Statement of Cash Flows. The fi'nancial statements have departed from the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 only to the extent required to provide a true and fair view. This departure has involved following the Statement of Recommended Practice for charities applylng FRS 102 rather than the version of the Statement of Recommended Practice which is referred to in the Regulations but which has since been withdrawn, The financial statements are prepared in sterling, whlch is the functlonal currency of the charity. Monetary amounts in these financial statements are rounded to the nearest £. The tlnanclal statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention. The principal 8ccounUng policies adopteé are set out below, 1.2 Golng ¢oncorn At the time of approvlng the financlal statements, the trustees have a reasonable expectation that the charlty has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. Thus the trustees continue to adopt the going concern basis of accounting In prep8rin9 the financial statements. 1.3 Charltable funds Unrestricted funds are available for use at the discretion of the trustees in furtherance of their charitable objectives. Restricted funds are subject to specific conditions by donors as to how they may be used. The purposes and uses of the restricted funds are set out in the notes to the financial statements, Endowment funds are subject to specific conditions by donors that the capital must be maintained by the charity. 1.4 Income Income is recognised when the charity is legally entitled to it after any performance conditions have been met, the amounts can be measured reliably, and it is probable that income wlll be received. Other donations are recognised once the charity has been notlfied of the donation, unless performance conditions require deferral of the amount, Income tax recoverable in relation to donations received under Gift Aid or deeds of covenant is recognised at the time of the donation. Legacies are recognised on receipt or otherwise if the charity has been notified of an impending distribution, the amount is known, and receipt is expected. If the amount is not known, the legacy is treated as a contingent asset. 1.5 Expenditur8 Expenditure is recognised once there is 8 legal or constructive obligation to transfer economic benofit to a third paty, it is probable that a transfer of economic benefits will be required In settlement, and the amount of the obligatlon can be measured rellably. Expenditur8 is classified by a¢tivlty. The costs of each activity are made up of the total cf direct costs and shared costs, including support costs involved in undertaking each activity. Direct costs attributable to single activity are allocated directly to that activity. Shared costs which contribute to more than one a¢tivity and support costs which are not attributable to a single activity are apportioned be￿een those activities on a basis consistent with the use of resources. Central staff costs are allocated on the basis of tlme spent, and depreciation charges are allocated on the portion of the asset's use. 1.6 Cash and cash equlvalents Cash and cash eguivalents include cash in hand, deposlts held at Call with banks, other short-term liquid investments with original maturities ofthree months or less, and bank overdrafts. Bank overdrafts are shown within borrowings in current liabilities. Basic flnancial assets Basic financial assèts, which include debtors and cash and bank balances, ara initl8lly measured at transaction price including transaction costs and are subsequently carried 8t amortised cost uslng the effective interest method unless the arrangement constitutes a financing transaction, where the transaction is measured at the present value of the future receipts discounted at a market rate of interest. Financial assets classified as receivable within one year are not amortised.
