The Church acknowledges the headship of Je$u8 Chri8t over hi8 Church and exi8t8 to glorffii the triune God by maintaining and promoting his worship both individually and corporately. Its members devote themselves to the teachings of the Scripture, to fellowship, breaking of bread, prayer, and evangelism. They commit, with the help of God, to wrtness to the saving and sustaining power of the Lord Jesus Chrlst and to work for the extension of His Klngdom. The principal charitabla object of the church is the 8dv8ncerrpnt of the Chr16tlan falth accordlng to the teachings of the Scripture. the Doctrinal Statement and Baptist principles. The Church continued to hold regular services for public worship and organised events that promoted fellowship amongst the members of the church and provided outreach opportunities with the wider community (as detailed above). The difference th8 charity's performance during the year has made to the beneficiaries of the charity and to wider society. The Church continued to provide benefrt to its members and the public by making known the Christian gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ through the advancement of the Christian faith. Structure. governance, and management of the charity.. The methods used to recruit and appoint new charity trustees - In accordance with the constitution, the Church shall actively promote a Board of Trustees which includes a range of skill, experience, and knowledge in keeping with the pursuance of its Objects. Flnanclal rovlew.. The church is funded by voluntary grfts and donations, and we make use of both the Gift Aid and Gift Aid Small Donations Scheme. The church does not seek funds from other sources. Income for 2022-2023 increased by 10,3 % to £177,219, this includes an amount of £20,790 in respect of Gift Aid Rebates. Expenditure wa8 26.9 % lower at £157,448 resulting in a surplus for the year of £19,771. Uncleared payments as of the 3111 of January 2023 came to £3,451. Expenditure was greatly reduced due to nonrecurring expenditure in the previous year including the reroofing project and adjoining field purchase. however expenditure has increased from the years previous Covid as expected. The Church uses Restricted and Unrestricted Funds in its accounting policies. Restricted Funds are used for money donated to the Church for specific purposes such as Missions, Youth Ministries etc. Unrestricted Fundsfrom general offerings are used for all other purposes. Any shortfalls in the Restricted Funds are made up by transfers from the Unrestricted Fund. Reserves Pollcy.. A pollcy on reserves ha8 been reviewed and agreed by the Trustees. The income of the church 18 Stable, and the risk of a sudden significant reduction of income is règarded as unlikely. In the event of an unexpected financial need thè Trustees are confident that members would respond accordingly. The Trustees are satisfied that a figure equating to approximately two months, expenditure is an appropriate level of reserve balances at the present time. Cash balance'at year end exceeded the level of Reserves required. These reserves will be kept in the unrestricted funds going forward, but if the need arises can be transferred to restricted funds to cover any shortfalls or unforeseen needs.
