We collect donations of practical items eg clothes, toiletrieb, food, powdered milk, medical equipllient, too15, building supplies, bedding, school desks, chairs, sewing maiphines, bic)cle-, toys and book's etc from doiiors in Northern Ireland and arrange the shipping of the do- natioiis in 40ft Colltainers from the charity's R."arelioii>e to Dar-es-salaain in Tanzania. The donations are taken in the container by road to a diitribution point in z￿llb1a. All goods are shipped for use by the missionaries for the public benefit and wellbeing of the Afric4n people. The goods and materials are distributed free of charge to the beneficiaries - the African people who are in need. The charity carries out its missionary and outreach work to ad- vat]ce the Christian faith by supporting the practical needs of the beneficiaries in Africa (Inainly Zambia) with whoni certain missionaries are working. This is evidencud by the number of people helped by the do- nations froiii the charity who are living in poverty. Purpose 4 - The Relief of Sick & Disabled Persons on the Proinotion of their Phy"bical and Spirittial Welfare The direkntt benefits which flow from this purpose incliide the provision of medical assistance throu(Th the equipmenL appli&nccs, apparatus alld supplies provided by the charity for the relief treatment and reliabilitation of poor, sick and disabled per£ons. This invludes medical equipiiiesit and expertise and prautical items such as furniture and sta- tionery, and to assist witli the construction of buildings for example through provision of steel girders, roofing sheets, windows and doors, shipped out and supplied to a Hospital and constructed for the benefit of the benefiGiar- ies such as Dipalats Hospital in Zambia for the construction of a male Tr&rd as an addition to the Hospital infrastruc- tur¢ in 2014115. This enhanccs and supports a healthy Eifestyle for all the b¢iiefIciaries af sisted by the charity through the supply of medical equipment, building materials and expertise. ThGse benefits are evidenced througli improved provision of services aiid improiied medical welfare of those who have been the recÉpieiits of these sup- plies including the poor, sick and disabled perqons. Financial review Total income for the year £77,3 51 coiiipared to £64,437 in the previous year. Shipping costs were £50,433, cost of goods purchased Tras £20,431, administratRve expenses £6,579 giving a total expenditure of £77,443 (2022:£78,783). This reiulted in a deficit for the year of £92 (2022: deficit £14,346). Total funds were £59,944 (2022: £60,036) Responsibilities in respect of the financial Statements. The Trustees are responsible for preparing the Annual Report and the fmancial statemcnts in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting PrakntiGe. The Trustees are required to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the Collgregatioiis alld the financial activities for the year. In preparing the f￿all¢la1 statemeiits the Trustees are requircd to: seleknt suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently make judgements and estimates that are r¢c750nable and prudcnt prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless It is inappropriate to presume that the FLmds will continue in operation. The Trusteeb are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records that are sufficient to show and explain the fi￿dS transakntioiis and disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the congregations and enable them to eLisure that the fmancial stateineiits coiiiply with the Statement of Reconunended Practice 'Accounting and Rcporting by charities (l January 2015),. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the organisatloll and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention alld detekntion of fraud and other irregularities.
