Structure, Governance and Management
Missionary Container Service Trust is a coinpany litnited by guarantee and is governed by a Men]orandum and
Articles of Association, It Thas incoryorated in Northern Ireland in 2007.
Objectives and Activities
The charity Carries out a number of activitieb in fijrtherance of its Obje￿tS. We collect donations of practical items eg
clothes, toiletrieb, food, powdered milk, medical equipllient, too15, building supplies, bedding, school desks, chairs,
sewing maiphines, bic)cle-, toys and book's etc from doiiors in Northern Ireland and arrange the shipping of the do-
natioiis in 40ft Colltainers from the charity's R."arelioii>e to Dar-es-salaain in Tanzania. The donations are taken in
the container by road to a diitribution point in z￿llb1a. All goods are shipped for use by the missionaries for the
public benefit and wellbeing of the Afric4n people. The goods and materials are distributed free of charge to the
beneficiaries - the African people who are in need. The charity carries out its missionary and outreach work to ad-
vat]ce the Christian faith by supporting the practical needs of the beneficiaries in Africa (Inainly Zambia) with
whoni certain missionaries are working. The missionaries are connected to our Church Grouping (Gospel Halls
throughout the UK and further afield), and have the full confidence of the cliurch elders and the trustees of MCST.
The donations supplied by the charity is direitly applied by the inissionaries to the benefIciaries for the relief of
pov¢rty, advanccLiient of education, alld relief of sick and disabled persons and the promotion of their physical and

spiritual welfare. All itcms are in an inventnry provided to the recipient iiiissionary. The costs of the shipping and
internal transport are paid for by the charity. The charity supplies medical equipinenL education equipment and
practical needs in this I￿aY and often the r￿lpIentS are in the "bush" far aiiay frolll towns. Donors are a.qsured by the
charity that their donations reach those in need and are applied for the purpose.s of the charity to advankne the Chris-
tian faith. relief of poverty, adTran¢ement of education and i"elief of sick and disabled persons with the proinotion of
their physical aiid spiritual welfare.

Purpose l - Advancement of the Christian Faith
The direknrt benefits which flow from this purpose are the enhanceiiient of SPiTitual teaching to meet the spirittlal
needs of the people through the practical support of the charity for missionary and outreach work by the supply of
goods and materials to missionaries (religious persons) for communicating of the Christian faith to change the lives
of tlie beneficiaries to help them find a new purpose and joy in life and live happier and more productive li￿as. This
is evid¢nc¢d by the nwiiber of beneficiaries who have learned of the Christian Faith through the inaterials supplied
(and inedical aqsistance given) by the Charity and use.d by the Missionaries in Africa. The beiieficiaries of this pur-
pose are people living overieaql in developing countries in partlclllar in Zambia, Afrkca particiilarly those in thc
"bush" and remote areas.
Purpose 2 - The Relief of Poverty
The direct benefits which flow froin this purpose is that the bei)efIciaries in Africa have their basic needs met
through practical assistance froLn the charity by its donations of food, clothiD& equipment and goods to the benefi-
ciarieb Wlth which to eiiabIe them to have a better life. This is evidencud by the number of people helped by the do-
nations froiii the charity who are living in poverty. The beneficiaries of this purpose are the people living oversegÈsl
in developing countries in particular in Zambia, Africa particularly those in the "bush" and remote arcas.
Purpose ) - Advancement of Education
The direknt benefits which flow from thTS purpose include the provision by the charity of desks. chairs, books, and
other educational materials and equipment which eiiAbles the education of children, young people and adults prepar-
ing thein to f￿d employmenL a trade or to start a business to support themselves and their families in the future
which in turn lead to better health and a reduction in povety. This is evidenced by thc number of children/young
people/adults attending school and utilising the educatioiial equipment and materials provided by the charity. The
bcneficiaries those pcople living overstasl in developing countrics in particular in Zambia, Afrikna particularly
those in the "bush" and reLnot¢ ar¢as.
Purpose 4 - The Relief of Sick & Disabled Persons on the Proinotion of their Phy"bical and Spirittial Welfare
The direkntt benefits which flow from this purpose incliide the provision of medical assistance throu(Th the equipmenL
appli&nccs, apparatus alld supplies provided by the charity for the relief treatment and reliabilitation of poor, sick
and disabled per£ons. This invludes medical equipiiiesit and expertise and prautical items such as furniture and sta-
tionery, and to assist witli the construction of buildings for example through provision of steel girders, roofing
sheets, windows and doors, shipped out and supplied to a Hospital and constructed for the benefit of the benefiGiar-
ies such as Dipalats Hospital in Zambia for the construction of a male Tr&rd as an addition to the Hospital infrastruc-
tur¢ in 2014115. This enhanccs and supports a healthy Eifestyle for all the b¢iiefIciaries af sisted by the charity
through the supply of medical equipment, building materials and expertise. ThGse benefits are evidenced througli
improved provision of services aiid improiied medical welfare of those who have been the recÉpieiits of these sup-
plies including the poor, sick and disabled perqons. The beneficiaries are the poor, sick and disabled peoplc livillg
overseagl in developing countries in particular ID z￿llb1a, Africa particularly those in the "bush" and retnote areas.
None of the purposes led to any hann. Private Benefit Ther¢ is no pri￿.ate benefit flowing froill any of the pur-
poscs.

Acljievements and performallce
A totsl of four containers were shipped in this ycar (2022.4).
Financial review
Total income for the year £77,3 51 coiiipared to £64,437 in the previous year.
Shipping costs were £50,433, cost of goods purchased Tras £20,431, administratRve expenses £6,579 giving a
total expenditure of £77,443 (2022:£78,783).
This reiulted in a deficit for the year of £92 (2022: deficit £14,346).
Total funds were £59,944 (2022: £60,036)
Responsibilities in respect of the financial Statements.
The Trustees are responsible for preparing the Annual Report and the fmancial statemcnts in accordance with
applicable law and United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting PrakntiGe.
The Trustees are required to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view
of the state of affairs of the Collgregatioiis alld the financial activities for the year. In preparing the f￿all¢la1
statemeiits the Trustees are requircd to:

prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless It is inappropriate to presume that the FLmds
will continue in operation.
The Trusteeb are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records that are sufficient to show and explain the
fi￿dS transakntioiis and disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the congregations
and enable them to eLisure that the fmancial stateineiits coiiiply with the Statement of Reconunended Practice
'Accounting and Rcporting by charities (l January 2015),. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets
of the organisatloll and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention alld detekntion of fraud and other
irregularities.
Special Provisions relating to Small Companies
The above report has been prepared in accordance with the prO￿lS1On5 applicable to companies subject to the small
companies regime.
