The Charity purposes are alto safeguard, protect and preserve the good health, both mental and physical of chlldren and parents of children; b) to prevent cruelty to or maltreatment of children; c) to relleve sickness, poverty and need amongst children and parents of children; dl to promote the education of the publlc in better standards of childcare,. princlpally but not exclusively within the area of LlsbuTn/Colin and its environ5. The Home-start vision is to see a Society In which every parent has the support they need to glve their children the best possible start in Ilfe. Home-start believes that children need a happy and secure chlldhood and that parents play the key role in glvlng their children a good start in life and helpin8 them achieve their potentlal. Home-start supports parents as they grow in confidence, Strengthens thelr relatlonships with thelr children and wlden IIDks with the local community. Home-start Lisburnlcolin offers support, friendshlp and practical help to families with Young children. The servlces provided by include weekly volunteer 5UPPOrt In the home, Family Group support, courses and outings. In settlng our objectives and planning our activltles for the year the trustees have given careful consideratlon to the Charity Commisslon for Northern Ireland's 8uldance on publlc beneflt to ensure that the actlvlties have helped to achieve the charlty's purposes and provlde a benefit to the beneflclaries We want to say thank you to the trustees for all thelr hard work through out the year. Also to the famllv support volunteers. who selflessly give up thelrfree tlme to visit famllies in their homes each week, and help out at the Famlly Group. ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE In the year to March 2025 Home-start Lisburn/Colin supported 231 children12024, 175 chlldrenl. The Charlty during the year had 34 volunteers12024, 23) who visited families weekly In their homes or who helped on weekly basls at the Famlly Group, Families took up 12412024,113} packages of support made up of - Home visiting .51 (311, Family Group -37 {361, Incredible Years -281151, Other Workshops -81311, In 2025 there were 117 referrals12024,951. FINANCIAL REVIEW We had an Income of £110,90512024 £93,577) and spent £107,333 {2024 £88,537). Despite Ihe uncertalnty surrounding publlc budgets the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust continues to be our anchor funder wlth over £40,000. Notable support ha5 come from National Lottery People&Commun, The Henry Smith Charlty, Lisburn & Castlereagh Clty Councll. It is the policy of the Charity to keep reserve levels under review. It is deslrable to maintain reserve levels which would equate to approxlmately six months of unrestricted expenditure, thus safeguardlng service delivery on an annual basi5. At present reserves equate approximately to six months of unrestricted expenditure. STRUCfURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT The Charity is a private limlted company, limited by guarantee wlth no share capital. The Charity is governed by its memorandum and articles of assoclation. Assets held under flnance leases are initially recognised as assets of the charity at their fair value at the inceptlon of the lease or, If lower, at the present value of the mlnimum lease payments. The corresponding liability to the lessor is Included in the balance sheet date as a finance lease obligat50n.
