Tlie priiicipal risks are in relation to tlie likelihood of i'epulational damage and financial risks associated with the expectation of ongoing financial support from members. Membei'5 of tl)e Kirk Sessioii al'e ex-officio niembei's of the Congregalional Comniittee. The Kirk Session coiisisls of the oi'dained ministers and the ruling elders of the congi'egations. All meinbers are entitled to propose, speak and exercise equal votes at meetings, except that the Moderatoi.. Ilie ministei's in active duty in the congregation, has no deliberative but only a casting vote. Stated meetings of the Kirk session are nornially held at 7.30pm at the church on the first Wednesday of each n)onth (save usually in January, Jiily and Aiigiist), and additionally when requii'ed. First Holywood Coi)gregation has been assigned to the East Belfast Presbytery of the Presbyterian Chui'¢h in Ii'eland. The membership of Ilie Pi'esbytery consist5 niainly of the active niinistei's of congregations assigr)ed to it by the General Assembly, minsters who have relired from active duty and an elder appointed by the Kirk Session of each Congregation. The General Assenibly The General Asseinbly is the supreiiie court of the CIILlI'ch, i'epresenting in one body tlie wliole Chui'ch and acting as its supreme legislative, administrk]tion and judicial authority, in dealing with all Inatlei's biought befoi'e it. The General Assembly is iioi'mally constituted dui'ing the fii'st week in June for worship and to condLlCt its biisiiiess. At the end of blisiness it is dissolved.
