WE GROW Girlguiding Ulster The financial year the report relates to- for example. 1st April 2016 to 31st March 2017 I" June 2023 to 31" May 2024 A summary of the CharitVs main activities to further its purposes forthe public benefit and the main achievements in the year There were 36 girls in the unit. The girls enjoyed a varied and fun programme throughout the year including games, crafts and completing activities from Girlguidinl5 programme thetnes- Be Well, Know Myself, Have Adventures. Take Action. Express Myself and Skills for My Future. All girls completed Girlguiding Ulsterfs Ulster/5cots challenge pack and earned the badge. In addition, many girls achieved a variety of interest badges and 2 bronze awards. 6 silver awards and 6 gold awards were presented. As a unit we worked on 2 Skill Builder badges- Have Adventures Camp Stage 2 and Skills for My Future Live STnart Stage 2 and all girls achieved these badges. We also held 2 science themed night where the girls made lava lamps. planes and rockets, which they then launched. Our unit is 80 years old in 2024 and as part of our year long celebrations, we are doing 80 acts of kindness, to date this has included making gift pouches for Friends of Lorne, volunteering at Lorne Estate and sending food and toy donations to a local animal shelter. The girls also designed a special anniversary badge to mark this momentous occasion. The mums were invited along to a Brownie meeting where the girls gave them some pampering in the form of hand massages and some tasty treats. 20 Brownies attended our weekend Pack Holiday at Lorne and an additional 8 joined us for the day on Saturday. We had a party themed weekend, and activities included the High Ropes Course, tie dying tee shirts, pebble art pictures. a 5 station games session, designing and making a golf course and the playpark. There was no harm flowing from the Charities purposes and there was no private benefit.
