The oi'ganisation has moved into our new building and held an official opening day on the 14 Septembei. 2023. The staff and volunteel's ensui'ed that thei-e was a smooth ti'ansfei. of gi-oups and iheii. I'esoui'ces into our new home. The Depaitment foi. Coinmunities pi"ovides ilie funding foi" coi"e staff enabling the oi"ganisation to continue to opei'ate as a community facility olfering services in the ai.ea of benefit. We al'e funded undei- Neigliboui'hood Renewal to assist in iinpi-ovingthe lives of the residents in our ai-ea. Tlii-ough fuiiding froin DFC, we have been ableto sustain the staff who have beeii i"esponsible foi" the management and daily opei"ations of the oi'ganisation, the new building and the usei. gi"oups. We continue to suppoit and mentoi" our gi'oups offei.ing guidance on coinniunity development pi'aclice and pi-incipals. The organisation is i'epi'esented on inany netWOL-ks, Inaking connections witliin ihe coinmunity to sliai-e expei'iences and pi'oniote pairtnei-ship woi-king. We liave been involved in suppoi-ting and delivei'iiig cominuiiity capacity buildiiig progR'ammes, cultui'al awai-eness, coininunity safety and cominunity engagement activities. We continue to delivei- pi-ogi'ainiiies foi. youth in partnei-ship with other voluntaiy and statutoiy olganisations. The Education Authoi'ity continues to suppoit the organisation by funding staffand pi'ogramines listed below: Rugi"ats Junioi. Youth Club, Ravel's Senioi. Youth Club, Football Pi"ogi"amine,Detached woi"k. Oui" youth team has increased and has been able to delivei. Inany educational pi'ogi"ammes for all young people in our ai'ea as pei- theii. delivei-y plan foi. tlie year. The new building has atti'acted new membei's aiid oui" numbers continue to grow sigjnifIcantly. Funding fi.orn Urbaii Villages has allowed us to continue with the Young Mum's pi'ograinnie. 30 young Inunis al-e enrolled in the pi'ograinmed and ci'eche is pi-ovided for 31 childi-en. This is a successful pi'ogramme recognised by Govei'nment depaitments and held as a model of good pi"actice. Othei. groups continue to benefit fi'oin the pi-ojects delivei'ed by the oi'ganisation, Parents & Tots, Ti"inity Theati'e Ai"ts, Walkway Women's Gi"oup, etc. Walkway Community Association also delivei" Inaiiy seasonal pi'ogi'amnies and projects designed to meet the needs of the local coinmunity. A significant focus foi- this i-epoi'ting pei-iod was tlie cost-of-living issues faced by many people in our coiiimunity. Walkway Commuiiity Association were able to provide support with i'ising food and utility costs for individuals and fainilies. Continued suppoit fi-om localchurches has also allowed us to suppoi't faiiiilies dui'ing crisis pei-iods. A sti"ategic planning exei'cise was coinpleted by the Managenient Committee to ensui'e the seivice deliveiy is lailoi'ed to meet the needs of the cominunity. The sti'ategic plan foi. the pei-iod 2023-2026 has been piepai'ed and i'eflects tlje needs ofthe 01-ganisation, the coininuiiity and the voluntai'y sectoi. in East Belfast. Accounting Conventioii The Accounts have beeii pi"epai'ed under the histoi'ical cost convention and in accoi"dance with applicable accounting standai'ds. Basis of Accountiiig Revenue Gi"ants are credited to the income and expenditui'e account on an acci.uals basis. Resti"icted Funds All Grants which specify a pui.pose foi. the Gi"ant, including Coi"e Grants, are Éncluded as Resti'icted Funds. It is the Association's policy to meet all Resli-icted Fund Deficits by transfer fi-om tlie Accuinulated Uni-esti'icted Funds.
