Foyle Deaf Association T￿￿tee'S Report .continued Trustee's Responsibilities In Relation To Tbe Financial Statements The trustees of Foyle Deaf A550ciation are responsible for preparing the trustee's Annual Report and the financial statemenls in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice). The trustees are r¢quired to prepare financial statements for each financial year, that give a true and fair view of th¢ stat¢ of th¢ affairs of the charitable association and of ihe incoming r¢50urrxs and application of resources, including ihe income and expenditure, of the charitsble association for that period. In preparing these financial ￿ateMent& the truste¢s ar¢ required to: select suitable accounting policies and apply them consistently. observe the methods and principles in th¢ Charities SORP 2019 (FRSI 02); - make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent. state whether applicable UK Accounting Standards have been followed, 5ubje¢t to any material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements. prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless il is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in business. Tlie trustee's are responsible for maintaining proper accounling records whi¢h disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and enables them to ensure that the financial statements comply wilh the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008.Th¢ trusiees are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities. In so far as the trustees are aiyare: -there is no relevant inforniation of which the charitable associatkon's independent exaaminer is unaware, and -the trustee's have taken all the steps that they ought to have taken to make themselves aware of any relevant information and to estsblish that the independent examiner is aNvare of that inforniation.
