Hon. Secretary’s report for 2024/ 2025

Two meetings were held during the year, one on 11 September 2024 and a second on 11 March 2025.

At the AGM in September, the following members were elected Office Bearers

Chairman: Mr N. Lyttle

Secretary: Mr N. Handforth

Treasurer: Mr G. Beck

Finances

The Treasurer, Mr. Beck, reported that the Charity’s income was similar to the previous year. The dividend was £3201. In the last four years the Institute had distributed £11950.

Applications 2025

Advertising posters were place around the town at the end of January highlighting the 2025 disbursement and a number of groups were emailed about potential applications. At the March meeting, Mr Handforth, the Secretary reported that twenty eight applications, most by email, had been received. All but one group met the criteria, the meeting concurred. Cancer Causeway Friends had an address in Coleraine so they failed to meet the criteria as outlined in the guidelines.

It was agreed that £2900 would be disbursed to the successful applicants with the Music Festival receiving £300 and the other groups £100. The Secretary agreed to contact the unsuccessful applicant

Grants were distributed in the Presbyterian Church Hall on 8 April 2025 at 7.00pm.

Receipts for all cheques were received at the disbursement and thanks from some groups was received.
