Chair erson's Re ort 2022-2023 Kinallen Rural Community Development Association have had a busy year. My thanks must go towards our hard working bunch of volunteers whom aim to deliver good services for the people of Kinallen village and the wider community. This year we have had two major loses within our village, namely Mr Earol Steel and Mrs Sandra Inline, our past secretary. We extend our sincere condolences to these families. Services and work continues with many groups: l. Youth - working with our agencies; council regarding anti social behaviour, development of play park fit for purpose. 2. Ladies group- delighted to hear about their varied programme of events. 3. Food bank- special thanks to Andrew and Elaine Dickson whom have worked to continue this much needed service with more of KRCDA Committee getting involved. Also to local shops; businesses and general public that donate. 4. Infrastructure- meeting with ABC Planning and DFI regarding footways, signage, different housing styles, and open spaces to be included. 5. PSNI & Neighbourhood watch - work continues but urges more residents to sign up to be involved in neighbourhood watch. Thanks for resources provided throughout year. 6. Queens Platinum Jubilee Party- very enjoyable day, with many residents being provided with a varied programme of events for all ages. 7. Christmas fest- this year we had an off icial Christmas tree switch on, in the new location at the cross roads. Massive thanks to Fairhill PS for their hard work and entertainment. Once again Santa and his merry friends visited each development. A very positive start to the Christmas period! 8. Development - Questionnaire released in regards to usage of Mayfield Avenue loop, Findings not fully completed yet. As Chairperson it has been a pleasure to serve our local community and work alongside our volunteers. l urge all Council representatives to ensure the pressure is put on ABC Council that this village is not forgotten. Independent Examiner's Report to Kinallen Rural Communlty Development Association I report on the accounts of the charity for the period ended 31st January 2023 which are set out on pages 5-6. Respective responsibilities of Trustees and Examiner As the charitrfs trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008. It is my responsibility to: examine the accounts under section 65 of the Charities Act; • follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland under section 65(9}(b) of the Charities Act; and state whether particular matters have come to my attention. Basls of Independent Examiner's report I have examined your charity accounts as required under section 65 of the Charities Act and my examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland under section 65(9)(b) of the Charities Act. My examination included a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also included consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as charity trustees concerning any such matters. My role is to state whether any material matters have come to my attention giving me cause to believe: l. That accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 63 of the Charities Act 2. That the accounts do not accord with those accounting records 3. That the accounts do not comply with the accounting requirements of the Charities Act 4. That there is further information needed for a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached. Independent examiner's statement I have completed my examination and have no concerns in respect of the matters (l) to (4) listed above and, in connection with following the Directions of the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland, I have found no matters that require drawing to your attention. Accounting policies The principal accounting policies adopted, judgements and key sources of estimation uncertainty in the preparation of the financial statements are as follows: a) Preparation of accounts on a going concern basis The charity generally meets its day to day working capital requirements from its annual income. The Trustees have obtained and reviewed cash flow forecasts for the coming year and based on these are satisfied that the charity has resources to provide a reasonable expectation that it can continue to meet its financial obligations as they fall due for the foreseeable future. Therefore these financial statements have been prepared on a going concern basis b) Income Income is accounted for on a cash receipts basis as the amount 15 collected and are allocated as either restricted or unrestricted funds according to the terms of the donation. c) Expenditure Expenditure is recognised on a cash payments basis. d) Cash and cash equlvalents Cash and cash equivalents includes cash in hand, deposits held at call with banks, other short-term highly liquid investments with original maturities of three months or less and bank overdrafts. l) Funds Funds are classified as either restricted funds or unrestricted funds, defined as follows: Restricted funds are funds subject to specific requirements as to their use which may be declared by the donor or with their authority or created through legal processes, but still within the wider objects of the Club.
