Chair
erson's Re
ort 2022-2023
Kinallen Rural Community Development Association have had a busy year. My thanks must go towards our hard
working bunch of volunteers whom aim to deliver good services for the people of Kinallen village and the wider
community.
This year we have had two major loses within our village, namely Mr Earol Steel and Mrs Sandra Inline, our past
secretary. We extend our sincere condolences to these families.
Services and work continues with many groups:
l. Youth - working with our agencies; council regarding anti social behaviour, development of play park fit for
purpose.
2. Ladies group- delighted to hear about their varied programme of events.
3. Food bank- special thanks to Andrew and Elaine Dickson whom have worked to continue this much needed
service with more of KRCDA Committee getting involved. Also to local shops; businesses and general public that
donate.
4. Infrastructure- meeting with ABC Planning and DFI regarding footways, signage, different housing styles, and
open spaces to be included.
5. PSNI & Neighbourhood watch - work continues but urges more residents to sign up to be involved in
neighbourhood watch. Thanks for resources provided throughout year.
6. Queens Platinum Jubilee Party- very enjoyable day, with many residents being provided with a varied programme
of events for all ages.
7. Christmas fest- this year we had an off icial Christmas tree switch on, in the new location at the cross roads.
Massive thanks to Fairhill PS for their hard work and entertainment. Once again Santa and his merry friends visited
each development. A very positive start to the Christmas period!
8. Development - Questionnaire released in regards to usage of Mayfield Avenue loop, Findings not fully completed
yet.
As Chairperson it has been a pleasure to serve our local community and work alongside our volunteers.
l urge all Council representatives to ensure the pressure is put on ABC Council that this village is not forgotten.
