Financial Review Total income for the year amounted to £34,307 (prior year, £59.3751 with total expenditure of £34,759 Iprior year, £69,039) resulting in a deficit of £452 (prior year, def icit £9,664), As a result, the year-end cash balance decreased slightly to £14,991. At just over 40Yo of annual expenditure the Trustees consider this to be a n acceptable level of reserve5 to meet emergency needs as they arise. Achievements and Performances During the year, MET continued to support partners engaged in the promotion of the Christian faith and the well-being of people primarily in Greece, Irela nd, Israel, and Moldova, while seeking to further encourage Christian testimony in Croatia, Hungary, North Macedonia, Romania, Slovenia, Turkey, and Ukraine amongst other countries. Grants totalling £33,063195.1% of total expenditure) were made over the course of the year. Whllst no in-person visits to partners in mainland Europe were made during the year, regular and frequent contact was maintalned via telephone, email and social media to ensure that the directors / trustees were aware of developments and needs. The following are typical of the work which MET grants have supported over the year: Israel: MET has previously reported on the pioneering work of known partners in reaching out to sex workers and substance abusers in Israel, particularly in Tel Aviv and Be'er Sheva, but also other cities such as Ashkelon and Haifa. In 2023124, MET was able to provide further grant assistance to this work, which brings direction into the lives of individuals as well as helping to relieve the suffering of their children and families. These men and women are honourably befriended while they are still living on the streets and invited to a daycentre run by our partners Aviv Ministries in Tel Aviv. While there, they are offered free food, clean clothing, rest, medical advice and the offer of a free placement at the rehabilitation centre, in Be'er Sheva in the south of the country. More recently a safe haven for women has also been opened in Be'er Sheva to which MET has continued to make

significant grants. We wish to continue to financially support these unique, laudable, and on-going works, which bring together Israelis, Arabs, and Russians. Moldova: Our partner in Moldova continues to operate a variety of community focussed ministries which are also opportunities to present the Christian message. MET was again able to provide several grants towards meeting the cost of free distribution of New Testaments and other Christian literature in the language of the recipients. North Macedonia: MET'S partner in North Macedonia travels long dlstances to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to teach and encourage sma I I groups of Christians in remote rural areas, as well as meeti ng very practical needs such as the heating of church buildings in the cold wlnter months. Annual summer camps for the poorest of children were again freely offered and some 80 children attended. There, they were glven new clothes, fed well, offered any required medical help and teaching from the Bible. These works are on-going and MET wishes to continue to financially support them. Ireland.. Closer to "home" poverty in both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland is also very real and often compounded by unemployment, or families split through alcohol and/or substance abuse resulting in the children and young people in many homes being left in need. MET continues to provide finance to partners who are providing both humanitarian and spiritual help to these people. The majority of the above projects are on-going, and we look forward to being able to visit them once again and to see the Ilves of more people changed, as well a5 the local living conditions built to allow a greater standard of living in some of the most deprived areas of Europe. On behalf of all who so selflessly supported the work of MET over the course of the year in any way, we give our heartfelt thanks.
