ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE FINANCIAL YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2025 Financial Results At the end of the financial year the charity has assets of £41.797 (2024 £56,797) and liabilities of £15.525 {2024 - £15.265). The net assets of the charlty have decreased by £(15,260}. Plans for the future Bables born after March 112020 will have only known a world in the grip of a pandemic. They have not had the same opportunities to interact wlth other chlldren as those bom in the years before. We don't yet know the full impact of the pand8mic on children. young people and their families, but we are seeing an increase in demand for services as we move into the next phase. So, whilst the fijture remains uncertain. our commitment to provide responsive and high-quality serVIS and supports for families remains steadfast and we are confident in our staff team. partners and community that we can continue to give chlldren the best start in life. A further challenge has been in terms of the unprecedented times as families struggle and wory about household budget pressures. We have had to adapt our services to me8t th8se needs and are providing ongoing support for families in relatlon to benefit maximisatlons. grant applications, help with housing and household items, referrals to Foodbank and Social Supemiarket. We launched the Surestsrt Edenballymore Baby Grow BabyBank provrding fre8 quality pre-loved baby it8ms and clothing- this servic8 has been welcomed by parents and is proving popular. We have supported 180 famili8s from April - December, which highlights the need for the seNice. Moving into 2025126 the Project wants to maintain a balance of worklng with families to alleviate financial pressures whilst also delivering on our core aims. To do this we wlll be building on the partnerships established with other organisatlons to better deliver on the many Initiatives to support families with food, fuel. or resources needed for young children to thrive. The registered office of the charity is which is also the principal plac8 of business of the charity. The financial statements have been presented in Pound {£} which is also the functional currency of the charity. SUMMARY OF SIGNIFICANT ACCOUNTING POLICIES The following accounting policies have been applied consistentiy in dealing with items which are considered material in relation to the charity's financial statements. Basls of preparation The financial statements have been prepared on the going concem basis under the historical cost convention, modified to include certain items at fair value. The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) 'Accounting and Reporting by Charities preparing their accounts In accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard 8pplicab18 in th8 UK and Republic of Ireland FRS 102.. As permitted by the Companies Act 2006, the charity has varied the standard formats in that act for the Statement of Financial Activities and the Balance Sheet. Departures from the standard fomiats are to comply with the requirements of the Charities SORP and are in compliance with section 4.7. 10.6 and 15,2 of that SORP. Statement of compliance The financial statements of the charity for the financial year ended 31 March 2025 have been prepared on the going concern basis and in aOrdanCe wlth the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) "Accounting and Reporting by Charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland FRS 102.. Fund accountlng The following are the categories of funds maintained: Restrlcted funds Restricted funds represent income received which can only be used for particular purposes, as specified by the donors. Such purposes are within the overall obi8ctives of the Charity. Unrestrlcted funds Unr8Strict8d funds consist of General and Designated funds. General funds represent amounts whlch are expendable at the discretion of the board, in furtherance of the objecttves of the charity. Designated funds comprise unrestricted funds that the board has, at its discretion, set aside for particular purposes. These deslgnations have an administrative purpose only, and do not 18gally restrict the board's discretion to apply the fund. Incoming Resources Income is recognised by inclusion in the Statement of Financlal Activities only when the charity is 18gally 8ntitl8d to th8 incom8, p8rfomiance conditions attached to the item{s) of income have been met, the amounts involved can be measured with sufficient r81iability and it is probable Ihat the income will b8 r@c@ived by the charity. Income from charitable activities Income from charitable activities include income eamed from the supply of s8rvices under ontraotual arrangements and from performance related grants which have conditions that specify the provision of particular services to be provided by the charity. Income from govemment and other co-funders is recognised when the charity is 18gally entitled to the income because it is fulfilling the conditions contained in the related funding agreements. Where the charfty is meeting the core objectives of a grant agreement, it recognises the rel8t8d 8XP8nditure. to the extent that it is reimbursable by the donor, as income. •Time based condilions.. whereby the charity is contractually 8ntitl8d to funding on the condition that it is utilised in a particular period. In these cases the charity recognises the incom8 to th8 extent it is utilised within the period spectfied in the agreem8nt. In the absence of such condltlons. assuming that receipt Is probable and th8 amount can be reliably measured. grant income is recognised once the charity Is notlfled of entitlement. Grants received towards capltal expenditure are credited to the Statement of Financial Activitl8S when received or receivable. whichever is earlier. Resources Expended Exp8nditure is analysed between costs of charitable activities and ralslng funds. The costs of each adivity are separately accumulated and disclosed, and analysed according to their major components. Expenditure is recognlsed when 8 legal or constructive obligation 8xists as a result of a past event, a transfer of economic benefits is required In settlement and the amount of the obligation can be reliably measured. Support costs are those functions that assist Ihe work of the charity but cannot be attrfbuted to one activity. Such costs are allocated to activities in proportion to staff time Spent or other suitsble measure for each activity.
