Bables born after March 112020 will have only known a world in the grip of a pandemic. They have not

So, whilst the fijture remains uncertain. our commitment to provide responsive and high-quality serVI￿S
and supports for families remains steadfast and we are confident in our staff team. partners and
community that we can continue to give chlldren the best start in life.
A further challenge has been in terms of the unprecedented times as families struggle and wory about
household budget pressures. We have had to adapt our services to me8t th8se needs and are providing
ongoing support for families in relatlon to benefit maximisatlons. grant applications, help with housing and
household items, referrals to Foodbank and Social Supemiarket.
We launched the Surestsrt

April - December, which highlights the need for the seNice.

of accounting in the preparation of the financial stat8ments is 8ppropriate.
Based on the work we have performed. we have not identified any material uncert8inties r81ating to events
or conditions that, individually or collectively. may cast significant doubt on the charity's ability to continue
as a going concem for a period of at least twelve months from the date when the financial statements are
authorised for issue.
Our responsibilities and th8 r8sponsibilities of the trustees with respect to going concern are described in
the relev£nt sections of this report.

Opinion on other matter prescribed by th8 Companles Acl 2006
In our oplnlon. based on the w¢)rk undertaken in the course of the audit:
Ihe infomiation given in the Trustees, Annual Report for the flnancial year for which the financial
statements are prepared is consistent with the financial statements. and
the Trustees, Annual Report has been prepared in accordance with applicable18gal requirements.
Matters on which we ar• r•quired to report by exrAptlon
In the light of our knowledge and und8rstanding of the charity and its environment obtained In the course
of the audlt, we have not identified material misstatements in the Trustees. Annual Report.
We have nothing to reporl in respect of the following matters where the Companies Act 2006 requires us
to report to you if, in our opinion-
adequate accounting records have not been kept; or
the financial statements are not in agreement with the accounting records and retums. or
certain disclosures of trustees, remuneration sp8cifi8d by law are not made: or
the trustees were not entitled to prepare the financial statements in accordance with the small
companies regime and take advantage of the small companles, exemption in preparing the TN8tees'
Annual Report.
Responslbllltles of trustees for the financial slatements
As explained more fully in the Statement of Trustees. Responsibilities set out on page 8, the trustees 8re
responsible for the preparation of the financial statem8nts and for being satisfied that they give a true and
falr view, and for such intemal control as they detemiine is necessary to enable the preparation of
financial statements that are free from material misstatemenc whether due to fraud or error.
In preparing the financial statements, the trustees are responsibl8 for assessing the charity's ability to
continue as a going concern, dlscloslng, as applicable, matters related to going concem and using th8
going concern basis of accounting unless rnanagement either intends to liquidate the charity or to cease
operations, or has no realistic altemative but to do so.
Auditor's responsibllltles for the audlt of the flnanclal statements
Our objectives are to obtain reasonabl8 assuranc8 aboLrt whether the financial statements as a whole are
free from material misstatement, whether due to fraud or error. and to ISSU8 an Auditor's Report that
includes our opinion. Reasonable assurance is a hlgh level of assurance, but is not a guar8ntee that an
audit conducted in accordance with ISAS (UK) will always detect a material misstatement when It exlsts.
Misstatements can arise from fraud or error and are considered mat8rial rf, individually or in the
aggregate, they could reasonably be expected to influence the economic decisions of users taken on the
basis of these financial stat8ments.
Irregularities, including fraud, are instances of non*compliance with laws and regulations. We design
procedures in line with our responsibilities, outlined above. to detect material misstatements in respect of
irregulariti8s, including fraud. The extent to which our procedures are capable of detecting Irregularities,
including fraud is detailed below:
However, the primary responsibility for the prevention and detection of fraud rests with both management
and those charged with governance of the charitable company.
We assessed the susceptibility of the charitable company's financial statements to material misststem8nt.
including how fraud might occur. including evaluating management's in￿ntiveS and opportunities to
manage earnings or influence the reported results. In common with all audits under ISAS (UK), we are
required to perfom speclfic procedures to respond to th8 risk of management override.

Further infomiation rogardlng the scope of our responsibilities a8 auditor
As part of an audtt in accordan￿ with ISAS (UK), we exercise professional judgement and maintain
professional s¢epti¢ism throughotrt the audit. We also:
• Id8ntify and assess the risks of material misstatement of the financial statements, wh8ther due to
fraud or error, design and perform audit procedures responsive to those risks, and obtain audit
evidence that is SLrfficient and appropriate to provide a basis for our opinion. The risk of not
detecting a material misstatement resuth'ng from fraud is higher than for one resulting from error, as
fraud may invofve collusion, forgery, intentional omissions, misrepresentations, or the override of
internal control.
• Obtaln an understsnding of intemal control relevant lo the audil in ord8r to design audit procedures
that are appropriate in the circumstances, bLrt not for the purpose of expresslng an opinion on the
effectiveness of the charity's intemal control.
Enquire of managément, those charged with govemance and the Charitys solicitor around actual
and potential litigation and claims.
• Perform analytical procedures to identlfy any unusual or unexpe¢ted relationships that may indicate
risks of material misstatement due to fraud.
• Evaluate the approprlateness of accounting policies used and the reasonableness of accounting
estimates and related disclosures made by trustees.
• Conclude on the appropriateness of the trust88s' use of the golng ¢oncem basis of accounting and,
based on the audit evidence obtsin8d, whether a material uncertainty exists related to events or
conditions that may cast signrfi¢ant doubt on the charity's ability to continue as a going concern. If
we conclude that a material un￿rtaInty exists, we are required lo draw attention in our Auditor's
R8POrt lo the related disclosures in the financial ststements or, If such disclosures ar8 inadequate,
lo modrfy our opinion. Our conclusions are based on Ihe audit eviden￿ obtained up to the date of
our Auditor's Report. However, future evenls or conditions may cause the charity to cease to
continue as a going concern.
Evaluate the overall pr8sentation, structure and content of the financial statements. Including the
disclosures, and whether the financial statements represent the underlying transactions and events
in a manner that achieves fair presentation.
Review minutes of meetings of those Charged with govemance.
We communicate with those charged with govemance regarding, among other matters, the planned
scope and timing of the audit and significant audit findings. inclLKling any significant deficiencies in intemal
control that we identify during our audit.
The purpose of our audlt work and to whom wo owe our responslbllities
This report is made solely io the charity's members, as a body, in accordance with Chapter 3 of Part 16 of
the Companies Act 2006. Our audit work has been undertaken so that we might state to the charity's
members those matters we are required to state to th8m in an auditorfs report and for no oth8r purpose.
To the fullest exlent pemiitted by law. we do not a¢￿pt or assume responsibility to anyone other than the
charlty and the charity's m8mb8rs as a body, for our audit work, for this r8POrt, or for the opinions we have
