The trustees of Carnagh Accordion Band are pleased to submit their report and accounts for the period July 1st 2022 to June 30th 2023.
Achievements and Performance
This year Carnagh Accordion Band performed at twelve events playing traditional Ulster Scots accordion music that had been taught to members and students during the year. The band also hosted a celebration for other musical bands in the local area, to bring our individual music together.
Four new students have been enrolled in the weekly accordion lessons taught by an experienced tutor, with an interest shown in the next year. Lessons include music theory, such as learning to read musical notes, playing the scales, and moving on to learning the tunes played in the band.
Meetings were held three times throughout the year to review activities, agree on future events and report on finance.
Membership
At June 30th 2022 membership of the band was 20, the band has accepted six new junior members and 1 senior member in the year and we extend a warm welcome to them.
