REPORT) FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 SEPTEMBER 2022 The trustees present their annual report and financial statements for the year ended 30 September 2022. The financial statements have been prepared in accordan with the accounting policies set out in note 1 lo the financial statements and comply with the charity's Igoveming documentl, the Companies Act 2006 and "Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 1021" (effective 1 January 2019). Objectives and activities The charity trustees have had due regard to the public benefit guidance published by The Charity Commission for Northem Ireland. The purpose of the organisation is "to promote and provide vocational training and retraining to employees and individuals wishing to enter employment in engineering. and in particular. constructional steelwork fabrication in Northern Ireland" The organisation was set up to ensure that the member companies could maintain a sufficient number of competent and suitably qualified Constructional Steelwork Draughting Technicians. The member companies are therefore the main beneficiaries. The other beneficiaries are the apprentices who are recruited by the participating employers on to the training scheme. The direct benefits to those apprentices include paid employment, training, to an industry standard of competency and aCsS to further education classes. These benefits can be demonstrated or proven through receiving industry recognised qualifications and employment. No fees are charged are charged to participating employers or apprentices. The trustees have paid due regard to guidan issued The Charity Commission for Northern Ireland in deciding what activities the charity should undertake. Achievements and performance There has been no activity by the charity in the current year but the objectives remain the same.. to promote and provide vocational education and training in the engineering sector. Financial review The charity holds £42,592 in net current assets for future promotion of training and educational wurses. It is the policy of the charity that unrestricted funds which have not been designated for a specific use should be maintained at a level equivalent to between three and six month's expenditure. The trustees consider that reserves at this level will ensure that, in the event of a significant drop in funding, they will be able to continue the charity's current activities while consideration is given to ways in which additional funds may be raised. This level of reserves has been maintained throughout the year. Structure, governance and management The company was incorporated in September 2004 and is a company limited by guarantee. The Directors are appointed at the AGM by the members present and are eligible for re-election. The Directors also have the power at any time to appoint any person to be a Director to fill a vacancy or as an addition to the existing Directors. The trustees. who are also the directors for the purpose of company law, and who served during the year and up to the date of signature of the financial statements were= P Hasson K Hearne (Resigned 1 June 2022) None of the trustees has any beneficial interest in the company. All of Ihe trustees are members of the company and guarantee to contribute £1 in the event of a winding up.
