An Independent Examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and of tha accounting systems employed by the charity and a comparison of the financial statements prasanted with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual Items or disclosures in the financial statements, and s88king explanations from, as Truslees, concerning such matters. The purpose of tha examination is to establish as far a5 possible that there have been no breaches of charily legislalion and that th8 financial statements comply with the SORP, on a test basis, of evidence r8l&vant to th8 amount and disclosure in the financial statements.
