1. Charitable purposes
The income of the trust shall be applied in making grants and donatlons for any charitable purposes
including in particular the advancement of education, the relief of poverty. the protection and
preservation of health, the relief of the aged and disabled persons, the protection of the natural
environment, the provision of facilities for recreation or other leisure time occupation in the interests of
social welfare, the promotion of urban andlor rural regeneration in area5 of soci81 and economic
deprivation forthe benefits of inhabitants of Northern Ireland and the remainder of the United Kingdom.
2. Charitable activities
Lunn's Charitable Trust is a grant making charity and its charitable activities are as follows:
Providing grants to organisations for specific projects to help towards the advancement of
education.
Providing grants to help improve the environment through either the protection of the natural
environment, the provision of facilities for recreation or other leisure time occupations in the
interesls of social welfare or the promotion of urban andlor rural regeneration in areas of social
or economic deprivation.

Achievements and performance
The charity was domiant during th8 year but the trustees envisag8 that th8 charity will commance its
charitable activities in the near future.

The charity was dormant durlng the year but the charity will op8rate for the publlc benefit when charitable
activities Gommence.
The trustees have had regard to the Charity Commission (Northern Ireland) guidance on public benefit
in managing the activities of the charity.
Appointment of Charlty Trustees
The charity shall actively promote a board of truslees which include a range of skill, experience and
knowledge in keeping with pursuance of its objects.
Financlal rnvl&w
As at 28 February 2025 the charity holds an amount of £1,225 in reserves. This is to ensure that there
is adequate cover for any contingencles.

Basis of independent examinefs report
I conducted my examination in accordance with the Directions to Independent Examiners made by the
Charity Commission in Northern I￿land. setting out the duties of an Independent Examiner in relation
to the conduGling of an Independent Examination. An Independent Examination includes a review of the
accounting records kept by the charity and of tha accounting systems employed by the charity and a
comparison of the financial statements prasanted with those records. It also includes consideration of
any unusual Items or disclosures in the financial statements, and s88king explanations from, as
Truslees, concerning such matters. The purpose of tha examination is to establish as far a5 possible
that there have been no breaches of charily legislalion and that th8 financial statements comply with the
SORP, on a test basis, of evidence r8l&vant to th8 amount and disclosure in the financial statements.
The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit. and
information supplied by the Trustees in the course of the examination is not subjected to audit tests or
enquiries, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the financial
stataments, and in particular, l express no opinion as to wheth8r th8 financial statements give a true
and fair view of the affairs of the charity, and my report is limit8d to th8 matters set out in the statement
b810w.
I planned and performed my examination so as to satisfy mys8lf that the objectives of the Independent
Examination are achieved and before finalising the report l obtained written assurances from the
Trustees of all material matters.

These financial statements have been prepared on the accruals basis, under the historical cost
convention, and in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard 102, (effective 1s1 January
2016) and FRS 102 SORP Istalemenl of Recommended Practice for Accounting and Reporting
by Charities) 2015, (as amended by the Bulletin issued In February 2016), publlshed bythe Charity
Commission in Northern Ireland ICCNI), effective January 2016. and in accordance with all
applicable law in the charity's jurisdiction of registration.

The financial ststements have been prepared on the historical cost basis. as modified by the
revaluation of certain financial assels and liabilities and investment properties measured at fair
value through income or expenditure.
The financial statements are prepared in sterling. which is the functional currency of the entity.

Fund accounting
Unrestricted funds are available for use at the discretion of the trustees to further any of the
charity's purposes.

Incoming resources
All incoming resources are included in the slatement of financial activities when entitlement has
passed to the charity: it is probable that the economic benefits associated with the transaction will
flow to the charity and the amount Can be reliably maasurèd. The following specific policies are
applied to particular categories of income:
income from donations or grants is recognised when there is evidence of entitlement to th8

Financial instruments
A financial asset or a financial liability is recognis8d only when the charity becomes a party to the

Current assets and current liabilities are subsequently measured at the cash or other consideration
expected to be paid or received and not discounted.
Debt instruments are subsequently measured at amortised cost.
Where investments in shares are publicly traded or their fair value can oth8Mise be measur8d

recognised in income and expendlture. All other such investments are subsequently measured at

Other financial instruments, including derivaliv8s, are initially r8cognised at fair value, unless
