A large number of children were treated during the year for a range of conditr'ons, primarily orthopaedic, plastic sur8ery, and cerebral palsy. The number of surgical patients decreased slightly, but there wa5 increasing emphasis on community work and longer term rehabilitation with improvements to educational and occupational therapy facilities. Conclusions: The Acheru staff have maintained hlgh standards In their medical and rehabilitation work, evidenced by the outcomes. We as trustees endorse the gradual shift in emphasis toward5 community work and longer term rehabilitation, and now wish to a5515t with a programme of renovation and change of purpose of some of the original Acheru buildings.
