Activities

The Association is established to advance education and to promote community participation in healthy recreation by the provision of facilities for the participation in martial arts and other sports and recreational facilities that may from time to time be identified, for the benefit of the inhabitants (hereinafter called “the beneficiaries”) of Mid Ulster/ Cookstown, Magherafelt and Dungannon and their surrounding rural areas (hereinafter called “the area of benefit”) by associating the statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort to improve the conditions of life for the said beneficiaries and in particular: a. to educate and assist young people through martial arts and other sports and recreational activities so as to develop their physical fitness, mental and emotional capacities that they may grow to full maturity as individuals and citizens - we do this by organising, managing and running a club that offers karate, boxing and kick-boxing. The club is open to all ages from five upwards. The club runs tournaments, offers training and coaching and provides facilities for people to get involved in healthy recreational activities. The club works with local schools and the local community to promote physical fitness, mental and emotional strength, self discipline and self confidence. b. to advance the education of adults in the area of benefit by the provision of facilities, courses, training, programmes, and resources to enable, assist and encourage the education of persons in the coaching of sport and physical recreation for the benefit of the beneficiaries. The club does this by inviting adults to take part in fitness training, karate, boxing and kick-boxing skills, by organising tournaments both locally and regionally ensuring that all of these activities are carried out in a safe environment for all participants. c. to advance any other exclusively charitable purpose as the directors may from time to time decide, within the law of Northern Ireland.
