Helping members of the public play more sport and enjoy the benefits physical activity generates by giving them access to high quality sports facilities - the National Sports Centres and Rowing Lake makes a direct connection between grassroots and elite sport, supporting both. The Charity also awards grants to organisations that provide sporting opportunities for individuals.

Objects: (i) The Preservation And Safeguarding And Assistance In The Preservation And Safeguarding Of The Physical And Mental Health Of The Community Through Physical Recreation (including Sports) And Education In Relation Thereto; And (ii) The Provision In The Interests Of Social Welfare And For The Purposes Of Improving The Conditions Of Life For The Persons For Whom The Same Are Primarily Intended Of Facilities For Physical Recreation (including Sports) Which Shall Be Available To Members Of The Public, Including Special Facilities For Persons Who By Reason Of Their Youth Age Infirmity Of Disablement Poverty Or Social And Economic Circumstances May Have Need Of Special Facilities.
