FRIENDS OF OAKFIELD SCHOOL Page 2 Trustee Report for the Year Ended 31st August 2024 In 2023-24, Friends of Oakfield Junior School (FOOJS) raised £24.708 and donated £14,179 to the school. Funds at 31sl August 2024 stood al £48,982. Two major projeGts (the gazebo replacement and wildlife pond refurbishment) were begun in 2022-23 but finally settled in 2023-24, which accounts for-500/0 of donations to the school in 2023-24. The gazebo donation atnounted to £10,350 and the wildlife pond refurbishment amounted to £2,081 in total over two financial years. There is an additional £2,056 remaining from the wildlife pond fundraising effort to develop the area further by providing class seating and more planting. It is hoped that Ihis will be completed in the current school year. Other larger donations included £2,313 for the annual Doodle subscription used for Mathematics and English practice: £2,025 on IT equipment and furniture sourced from a local school closure- and £490 on new equipment specifically for the LAN Centre. A breakdown of all school donations is available on page 5. The FOOJS committee and the wider school community were very busy over the year organising fundraising events, Three large events look place: £12,640 raised from the fireworks event. This was the most successful event to date exceeding the previous highest gain by more Ihan £4,000. £872 raised from a spring colour run. £2,948 raised from the annual summer fair. It takes considerable tim8 and effort from a large number of volunteers to make these events enjoyable and profitable and FOOJS would like to thank everyone for taking part. Numerous smaller events were organised for the children's enjoyment. Following their inception in 2021-22, four Friday after school workshops were provided, raising a total of £481. Two school discos raised a total of £1,390; a break-the- rules day raised £304; and the children's Christmas gift designs raised a further £441. Funds were also raised from annual activities and initiatives including small lotteries; selling refreshments. secondhand uniform sales. textile recycling and the much loved Halloween pumpkin display on show to the wider Fetcham community. FOOJS also attended the Fetcham Festival event with a games stall raising £183. The Friends storage area was also given a good spring clean and -£250 raised from clearing stock and unwanted equipment. Cash contributions were received from local businesses to sponsor. atlend and advertise at FOOJS events- £2,324 towards the 2023 fireworks event. including £1,000 sponsorship from Cunningham Eves and £684 from V&H Homes for estate agent boards. £2,198 towards the summer fair including £325 from Innovex Consulting; £325 from Digby's Dog Boarding and £648 from V&H Homes for estate agent boards. Other businesses donated: Prizes for two raffles that were run during the year and raised a total of £1,387. Their time and experlise to put on Friday after school workshops for the children. FOOJS would like to sincerely thank all of these businesses and external organisations for their generosity and continuing support of Oakfield Junior School. Finally. FOOJS is supporting the school's plan for a new Arts and Wellbeing Cenlre, to be conslructed on the top playground in place of existing structures. A GoFundMe online campaign is open for contributions: to which donations as at 31sl August 2024 stood at £425. In addition to these specific donations to the Arts and Wellbeing Centre, FOOJS is maintaining a majority of its reserves from general fundraising to contribute towards this major project. A minimum of £5,000 is being held for regular commitments to support educational enrichment at the school for the following academic year with the remainder of the unrestricted funds being available for the Arts and Wellbeing Centre. The change in the economic environment has also allowed FOOJS to invest its funds in new savings products, raising £1091 in bank interest. Sarah Meijer, Treasurer 30th September 2024
