The trustees have adopted the provisions of Accounting 2nd Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Prnctice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective I january 20191. OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES Objectlves and aims The objectives, for which the Assotiation is formed, are to provide, fvrther and a5SlSt in the provislon of training and education for persons employed or intending to be employed in road transport relaced employment or such other activities as may benefit from the training services provided by the Association, and generally to SLtpervise and further the industrial training of such persons. Si8nlflcant actfvities The malor part of the GTA'S activities is the recruitmen¢ selection and fralning of young people wishing to enter the motor industry as a career. The management committee are mindful of the 'public benefit, guidance issued by the Charlty Commission. They consider thar there 15 Significant public benefit in the activities of the Association. for instance in: Taking young people off the NEET (Not in Education, Employment and Training) register; Giving them economically beneficial skills., Training young people throughout an apprenticeship and on to a career,. Supporting and developing local business with recruitment, training and health & Safety guidance,. Workn'ng with local schools, broadening their curriculum offer with vocational qualifications.. Linking school pupils wich local employers for work experience,. and Working with Special Education Needs Schools to broaden the curriculum. give the students Srfe skills and experience of the working environmenL In addition Upskilling the current mott)r vehicle technician5 with new technological training and development Supporting local schoo15 and local councils wlth careers advice and guidance All apprentlces are employed by member and associate companies, and assessmene and monitoring of their progress is carried ou¢ by GTA staff. The GTA is a Training Centre Regulated by OFSTED and Ilsted on the ESFA Register of Approved Apprenticeship Providers. We are an assessment and training centre approved by the Instltute of the Motor Industry Awards Limited (IMI A¥rdrds Ltd), Sknlls and Education Group Awards and ABC Awards.. Off the job training for standards is now delivered by the GTA Apprentices are trained as technician5 for lsght and heavy vehicles. In 2021 we started to delNer the level 2 Aueo<are technician standard. The GTA continues to expand its training offer for the industry along with progression to employment trainin& functional sknlls and 5kn11s bootcamps. This is delwered entirely by the GTA with elements of work experience. hopefijlly leading to a full apprenticeship on successful completion. Although the majority of delivery is completed with the Institute of the Motor Indu5ty Awarding Body, the progression to employment is delNered with the NOCN Awarding Body and we now offer qualification5 through the Skn115 & Education Group Awards and Standards via Autoexcel. We also deliver GCSE English and Maths to Study Programme students who require a level 2 and did not achieve a grade 4 at school. The expansion of motor vehicle vocattonal education within local schools and employers remains main focus of business expansion each year.
NORTH HUMBERSIDE MOTOR TRADES GROUP TRAINING ASSOCIATION REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES for the Year Ended 31 July 2024 ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE Charltable artivities The number of Apprentices on the books. currently stands at 50 level 3 and 28 level 2. Total 78 compared to 73 last year. This year. the Government QAR rates Standing at 53.3% Achievement rate 53.3% Retention rates I 00% Pass rate. However there is a time lag with actual achievement rates above due to delay5 in EPAS. We continue to develop and improve our delivery and Service to enable succe5sfvI delivery of our mi55ion statement. Our study programme achievement dropped in 2023124 to 60% from 90% due to small numbers. This is improving dramitlC311y in 2024125. Accepting invitatlons ¢0 attend careers event5 continue to be a high priority and has increased in 2023124. The GTA website continues to be a valuable source of information co career advlsors and schools and is currently being updated and given a complete overhaul. In assoclation with Hull Trainln& Connexlons and the Consorrium for Learning, the GTA actively operates the online applicauon proce55. We continue co be inspecced by all 3 Awarding Bodies and we have no actions Identified which is an excellent outcome and demonstrate5 the quality of delivery across all our training and qualifications. The Study Programme provision was part of the Hull Training provision graded a5 good by OFSTED in February 2022 and the GTAS Apprenticeship provision was graded good by OFSTED in November 2021. Internal and external factors Savings continue to be made by finding alcernative contract work and diversifying delivery. In addition. significant staff changes have been made. Staffing levels are now at a minimum to cope with curren¢ work level5. Fortunately, we negotiated long term fixed Gas and Electricity prices caking us into 2025 before the current price Increases came into force. We also installed LED li¥hcin8 throughout the building in January 2022 which has had a positive impact on cost reduttions. FINANCIAL REVIEW Flnanclal p051tion The results for the year ended 31 scjuly 2024 show a net surplu5 of £23.171 (2023.. £136.319). The total funds at the balance sheet date, all of which are unrestritted, are £1,029,318 (2023: £1,006,144. Prlncipal funding sources As noted under 'significant activities,, the main source of funding continue5 to be from the Skills Funding Agency vii Hull Trainin& Schools Contracts and directly from the ESFA for Levy Employers. Other sources of funding are through private contracts, investment income and a small level of subscriptions. We have also seen a significant increase in skills boot camp funding through Hull City Council.

The Charity's investments have continued to be managed in conformity with our policy and the Constitution. At che balance shee¢ dits, this would equate to around £l15.000 (2023: £115.0001 Using the Strict Interpretatlon of 'free reserve5', the charity's level of free reserves is not meeting thi5 target at the balante sheet date. sunding at £6,890 (2023: negative 121,143). However, adjusting the 'free reserves, by the mortgage that is secured against the property, the level of free reserves at the balance sheet date is £159,37312023., £148,191). We contlnue to Invest in new equipment and our facilitles to increase buslness and the professional Image of the Association, our focu5 in the medium term is to bring the reserves of the charity back ¢0 the appropriate level by mean5 of annual operating surpluses, judicious management of investment assets, and by investigating alternative organisaticnal arrangements, which would have a beneficial effett on the generntion of funds. This appears to have been effeetive is demonstrated in this years accounts compared to 5 year5 ago. The accounting policy in respect of fund accounting is gwen in Note 2 to the financial statements. Note 19 to the financial ststements shows the net movements for the year on the general fund. No other funds existed during the year.
NORTH HUMBERSIDE MOTOR TRADES GROUP TRAINING ASSOCIATION REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES for the Year Ended 31 July 2024 FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS In line with the government's new funding arrangements and our business plan, the GTA delivers all apprenticeships direttly to employers and has become a well established assessment centre for the delivery of the synoptic end point assessments required for the new Apprenticeship Standards. As planned, this has improved the pass rate to l OOX We continue to plan to deliver more privatety funded and skill boot camp related programmes alOnlde our traditional apprenticeship and advanced apprenticeship offers. We continue to focus on developing direct delivery relationships With local schools, delivering our wide range of vocational qualifications as part of their curriculum offers. We contlnue with our poliey to reduce borrowing. This reduced snIfIne1Y from £360,000 in 2009 to £151483 in july 2024. Although, we subsequently needed ¢0 borrow a further £60.000 from Nac West Bank via the CI8LS scheme in 2020 to secure the Association due to the impact of the COVID Pandemi¢. In 2020121 we paid £ l 0,000 off the CIBLS loan and converted this to a Bounce Back loan (8BL). with lower interest charges, in 2024 thi5 Stands at £22,343. Total borrowing is now down to £174,826 from £201,600. Although stlll working under tremendous external pressures, the GTA has made significant improvements to its operating structure. financial p05ition and a55ets over the past year, STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT Governing document The Association is an unincorporated charity, registered in England, governed by a constitution adopted on 1st May 1972 (a5 amended on 26th April 1990, 3rd December 2008, 1 I th September 2013 and 14th October 2015 and 28th November 2019). As an unlncorporated chariry, contracts are delivered on behalf of the Trustees by the GTA and similarly staff are employed by the Trustees on behalf of the GTA. RecruStment and appointment of new trustees New trustees of the Association are appointed by the management committee and duly inducted into the role5 and responsibilitles of a trustee. Or8anlsational structure The managemene committee is the governing body of the Association, and consists of one representative appointed annually by each member. Members of the Association are local organisations who provlde apprenticeships to trainees, Trustees delegate day to dty managemene to the Direttor of Training and in his absence, the Trairtlng Manager.

CONTINGENT LIABILITIES Upon any Sale of the investment property, the charity would be liable to pay Hull Ciry Council a proponlon of the proceeds of the Sale. If the properry were sold for proceeds equal to its carrying value in the accounts, this would crystallise a liability to Hull City Council of £440,000.
