Poor reports from Awarding Body EQAS, due to poor practice resulting in serious sanctions

The committee believes that the appropriate level of free reserves which are not Invested In tsngible fixed assets should be an
amount representing approximitely12 weeks, expenditure.
At che balance shee¢ dits, this would equate to around £l15.000 (2023: £115.0001
Using the Strict Interpretatlon of 'free reserve5', the charity's level of free reserves is not meeting thi5 target at the balante sheet
date. sunding at £6,890 (2023: negative 121,143).
However, adjusting the 'free reserves, by the mortgage that is secured against the property, the level of free reserves at the balance

We contlnue to Invest in new equipment and our facilitles to increase buslness and the professional Image of the Association, our
focu5 in the medium term is to bring the reserves of the charity back ¢0 the appropriate level by mean5 of annual operating
surpluses, judicious management of investment assets, and by investigating alternative organisaticnal arrangements, which would
have a beneficial effett on the generntion of funds. This appears to have been effeetive is demonstrated in this years accounts

The accounting policy in respect of fund accounting is gwen in Note 2 to the financial statements.

FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS
In line with the government's new funding arrangements and our business plan, the GTA delivers all apprenticeships direttly to
employers and has become a well established assessment centre for the delivery of the synoptic end point assessments required for
the new Apprenticeship Standards. As planned, this has improved the pass rate to l OOX
We continue to plan to deliver more privatety funded and skill boot camp related programmes alOn￿lde our traditional
apprenticeship and advanced apprenticeship offers.
We continue to focus on developing direct delivery relationships With local schools, delivering our wide range of vocational
qualifications as part of their curriculum offers.
We contlnue with our poliey to reduce borrowing. This reduced s￿nIfI￿ne1Y from £360,000 in 2009 to £151483 in july 2024.
Although, we subsequently needed ¢0 borrow a further £60.000 from Nac West Bank via the CI8LS scheme in 2020 to secure the
Association due to the impact of the COVID Pandemi¢. In 2020121 we paid £ l 0,000 off the CIBLS loan and converted this to a
Bounce Back loan (8BL). with lower interest charges, in 2024 thi5 Stands at £22,343. Total borrowing is now down to £174,826
from £201,600.
Although stlll working under tremendous external pressures, the GTA has made significant improvements to its operating
structure. financial p05ition and a55ets over the past year,
