Responslbllltles of trustees As explained more fully in the Statement of Trustees. Responsibilities. the trustees (who are also the directors of the charitable company for the purFJoses of company law) are responsible lor the preparation of the finanaal statements and for being satisfied that they gNe a ttue and fair wew. and for such inlemal control as the trustees determine is necessary to enable the preparation of ffinanoal statements that are free from material misstalement. whether due to fraud or error. In preparing the financial slalements. the trustees are responsible for assesslng the charitable company's abilty to continue as a going concem. disd05ing. as applicable. matters related lo going concem and using the going concem basis of accounliftg unless the Iru51ees either intend to liquKlate the charitable company or to cease Operat$. or have no realistic altemative but lo do $0. Our responslbilltles for the audit of the financial statements Our objectives are lo obtain reasonable assurance about whether the financial statements as a whole are free from material misslalemenl. vthether due to fraud or error. and to issue 8 Report of the Independent Auditors that includes our opinion. Reasonable assurance is a high level of assurance. but is not a guarantee that an audit eondu¢ted in accordance wtth ISAS (UK) will always detecl a material misstatement when it exrsts. Misstatements can aiise from fraud or error and are considered material if, individually or in the aggregate, they could reasonably be expected to inlluence the economic decisions of user5 taken on the basis of these financial statements. Irregularities, including fraud. are inslances of non-complian with laws and regulations. We design procedures in line with our responsibilities. oullined above. to detect material misstatemen15 in respect of irregularities. including fraud. The extent to Ithich our [*edureS are capable of dete¢ling Irregularities. including fraud is detailed below- Based on our underslanding of the charitable company and the environment in which It operates, we considered the risk of acts by the charitable company that were contrary to applicable laws and regulations. including fraud. and designed audit procedures in response to this risk. We focussed on laws and regulations which could grve rise lo a malerial misststement in the ffinancial statements, including, but not limited to, Companies Ad 2006 and Charities Act 2011. 12
INDEPENDENT AUDrroR'S REPORTTO THE MEMBERS OF ANHEDDAU CYFYNGEDIG- Continued Our tests included: enquiring with management of any known or suspected irregularities. including fraud" evaluating the adequ8cy of inlemal controls designed lo delecl or prevent irfegularities. induding the risk of management override.. agreeing the amounts and disdosures in the financial slatements to underlying supporting documenlalion. 18sling journal entries to idenlify unusual transaclions: and evaluating whelher there was evidence of management bias on key judgements and accounling estimates. There are InhenI limitations in the audit procedures described above. The more removed that financial transactions are from the laws and regulations. the less likely it is that wewould become aware of non-compliance. Auditing standards also limtl Ihe audit procedures required lo identify non compliance with laws and regulabons to enquiry of trustees and management, and the inspection of regulalory and legal correspondence. if any. Material misslalements Ihal arise due to fraud can be harder lo detect than thos8 resulting from errots. as fraud rnay involve deliberate concealment or LY>llusion. A further description of our responsibilities the audit of the financial slalements is localed on the Financial Reporting Council's websf(e al www.frc.org.uklaudilorsrespon5ibilities. This description forms part of our Report of the Independent Auditors. Use of our report This report is made solely lo the charitable companVs members. as a body. in accordance with Chapter 3 01 Part 16 of the Companies Act 2006. Our audit work has been undertaken so that we might slate to the charitable companYs members those matters we are required lo slate to them in an aLEdilors' report and for no other purpose. To the fullest extent pennilled by law. we do rt accept or assume responsibilty lo anyone other than the charilable company and the chafilable companWs members as a body, for our audit work. for this report. or for the opinions we have fomied.
