a) to promote any charitable purposes
within the former diocese of
Wakefield, which are in need of
spiritual or material assistance by
reason of social or economic
changes with a view to reinforcing
the work of the Church of England
among the people of that area.
b) To promote and assist the charitable
work of the Church Urban Fund.

In planning for activity for the year the
Trustees considered the impact on the wider
community (for the public benefit) of the
grants made.
The key aim of the trust remains to support
locally based projects where mission not
maintenance is the mainstay of church life.
During the year 37 grant applications were
considered and grants (in full or in reduced
amounts) were awarded to 33 applicants.
The Trustees met visually on two occasions
– using Zoom software – a practice
established during the Covid pandemic and
continued for convenience.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINATION OF THE BISHOPS DEVELOPMENT FUND FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 JUNE 2024

I have examined the documents and financial records provided to me for The Bishop’s Development Fund for the year ended 30 June 2024.
