Our main actiwties and who we try to help are described below. All of our charitable acrlvlties focus on our ability to provide a5slstance in the field of educatlon. School The trustees are very conscious of the needs of the school to maintaln the standard of education which it has achleved. During the year ended 31 December 2024 the trustees contlnued to offer assistance wlthln the object5 of the Foundation with a grant totalling £76,68712023'. £66,000] which benefited ihe school's puplls. Investment pollry and obl•ctlves The charlty maintains an investment portfolio in order to provide funds so that the charity may achieve its objectives. The trustees, in conjuncrion with its independent investment mana8er, have been responsible lor the charity's investment portfolio during the year ended 310ecember 2024 as summarised in note lo to the finantial statements. The trustees report that the value of the charity's investment portrolio increased from £314,484 a5 at 31 December 2023 to £320,708 as at 31 December 2024. ReseN*s polltv It is the policy of the trustees to maintain a level of reserves sufficient to ensure the continued operation of the charitV'5 artivities. FUTURE PiANS During the coming year the charity has plans to make progre55 in the following areas to provide assistance in the field of education. The charity is regulated by a scheme made by the Board of Education on 10 May 1915 a5 varied by a scheme made by the Minister for Education on 8 February 1954 and schemes of the Commissioners dated 3 March 1982. 20 january 1992 and 23 lune 2004 and under the Charities Acts 1960, 1993 and 2011. Rècrultment and appolntment of new trustees Thè following bodies have the right to nominate the lollowin8 number of trustees. Two trustees shall be nominated by the Borough Councll of Solihull. One trustee shall be appolnted by the justice5 of the Sollhull Petty DIvi5ion. Three trustees shall be appointed by the Parish Council of Hampton in Arden. The trustees also have the r5ght to co.opt up to four addbtlonal trustees by resolution passÈd at an extraordlnary general meeting of the charlty. The maxlmum length of term of offlce for trustee5 nominated by the 8orou8h Councll of Sollhull and for trustee5 appointed by the justices of the Solihull Petty Divlsion and the Parish Countil of Hampton in Arden is 4 years. In order to do this, a sub-committee of the trustees meets four times per year and receives indepondent investment advice from the charlty's independent investment mana8er. This sub-comrnittee reports back to the Board of Trustee5. The Geor8e Fentham Endowed School as stated above remain5 at a nil value in the flnanclal statements for charitable purp05e5 in accordance wlth tradltlonal practice as the property wa5 considered to be a permanent endowment of the charlty at that time. The trustees have obtained a valuatien 'on a contractor's basis" as at 31 December 2014 with the help of thelr professional adviser, N C Russell MRICS of Nick Russell Associates. Thi5 valued the Geor8e Fentham Endowed School Hall property at £4,500,000. This Is considered only 10 act as an 'aide-memoirÈ to the flnancial statements and not a5 a monetary valuatlon.
